where were LaMichael James and Darren Thomas ranked in the recruiting rankings? Or what star?

LaMichael was under the radar. I think Thomas may have been recruited as a WR by Texas programs.

I think LSU recruited him but he got pissed at them because they called him an "athlete" and not a quarterback. Or something like that.

Didn't lsu want him to play safety? Lamichael shouldn't have been that overlooked. He was a state champ in track.

The story I heard was that he hated when coaches called him an athlete, because he wanted to play quarterback. First thing Miles did in their meeting was say how great of an athlete he thought he was.

I think LSU wanted him to play WR. Not 100% sure though.

It bugs me that their team wears a uni that says Oregon, but they are a bunch of out of towners.

well that's all of college sports...

but at least they have a chance to be nationally competitive and they are.

notice LSU won when Saban locked down LA

it bugs me more when a public university on the ULL or La Tech level brings in mostly out of state players. it bugs me even more if they do it in a nonrevenue sport.

for the pros this doesn't really bother me (but the saints and hornets should try to keep a local or two). maybe the NFL should help teams with the salary cap who sign a local and play him a certain number of snaps.

What do Tech and ULL have to do with this? By the time LSU and the rest of the SEC and Big 12 get who they want there is not too much talent left. Gotta go out of state, verfy few talented players fly under the radar in LA. It is more likely that a telented player will be overlooked and not recruited in a large state like TX or CA.

Just my thoughts

A lot of significant LSU players have been from out of state. Mauck was from Indiana, Flynn was from Texas, Ridley's from Mississippi, Spencer Ware was from Ohio. Get over it.

I think we have something around 25-30 players from Oregon on the team. Oregon isn't known for putting out superb high school football athletes....
