The last game of the season the Red Zone Channel put of the stats for the Best cover CB in the NFL.

PP was tops in them all for 2015, and what was most impressive was the fact that their stat also included the list of WRs he "shadowed" each game. Not playing a zone....no no....covered that WR 1:1 the whole game. They even broke down at one point when a team would move their #1WR to a "slot" position as to try to avoid PP, and he would cover them anyway. Had the stats on that too.

His 2015 was one of the best for a CB ever, and again, he wasn't playing one designated spot on the field.

Yep. Bruce Arians basically said to compare Sherman to PP is a disgrace. Sherman only needs to practice on how to play zone. PP has to practice how to guard against wide out, slot, left side, right side, etc etc

On the other hand, Richard Sherman may only cover one side of the field, but he also completely shuts down that side of the field.

That is the dumbest shite I've read all week. He absolutely does not.

This was BY FAR Petersons best season at CB. Getting his diabetes and weight under control made a world of difference for him.

Absolutely tore it up this year.

OP was big on pro football focus, so:

Cornerback (outside): Patrick Peterson, Cardinals

Second team: Josh Norman, Panthers

It isn’t easy tracking the top receivers in this league. Or, at least, it shouldn’t be, but clearly Peterson didn’t get that memo, because he’s had no difficulty doing so. His consistent, shutdown play is something we don’t often witness.

It was actually one of the best seasons for a CB ever when you look at the stats.

I think Sherman followed receivers much more this season. Not positive though.

I don't watch all Seahawks games but I watched them play Pittsburgh this season. Sherman followed Antonio Brown all over the field and shut him down.

Interestingly enough, Sherman has had to play more man to man this season than seasons prior

He's played well, although I believe his PFF grades have dropped

Maybe so. But i know last season he played 847 out of 928 snaps on the same side of the field in a cover 3
