Asians play more video games than anyone. I'd assume they buy more of every video game made than Americans. Regardless of genre, with a few exceptions im sure.

You realize Cricket is bigger than basketball right? Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and it isn't really close.

Probably Messi

Lebron
Europe/Asia/South America/Central America/Majority of Africa will all recognize Ronaldo or Messi before Lebron.

As a whole, golf just doesn't command the same worldwide attention as basketball. Basketball has grown more worldwide, by far, than any other sport in the last 20-30 years.

Seriously do some people in here really think when presented with a picture of lebron and Tiger in a worldwide survey that lebron would be more recognizable? It wouldn't even be relatively close.

And you think Lebron is more well known than the two best players in the biggest sport on the planet...

What about Brazil, the 6th most populous country in the world?
This is an idiotic exercise. You are referring to less than 5% of the world population. While it's true that basketball is inherently more superstar-oriented, it's dum to suggest that the best player of the second or third most popular sport in America would even be comparable to soccer's level of popularity. You didn't even think of Africa, but it's clearly the #1 sport there as well. Even in China and India, where soccer isn't the primary sport, it is still a lot more popular than basketball.

since when? i think he actually gained a lot during the scandal. i was in india during the apology and it was all over the tv, newspapers, etc.
Well I suppose if you look at google trends his web searches are way down since he no longer wins anything. His popularity spiked during the scandal and nobody cares anymore. Even people in the US don't care.

No, but Canada and the U.S. will be different.

Oh, well that settles it.
Seriously, though. If you think it wouldn't even be close, you're an idiot. LeBron has been the best player for a few years now in the second most popular organized sport in the world.

how many Messi commercials do you think they see in Asia?
Yao did wonders in Asia as far as basketball interest. Everyone there knows who Lebron is.

Cricket is the number 2 sport in the world... Hakeem Olajuwon wanted to be a soccer player even.

Not that it matters in the overall picture but I'm pretty sure the #1 spectator sport in China is Basketball

Why do you keep posting shite like this? You think there are more Lebron or Messi commercials in South America?

I'm currently overseas and a lot of people don't know who Lebron is and didn't know about the NBA finals. People do know Tiger. People talk on and on about Messi versus Ronaldo. Euro 2012 is going on right now and Ronaldo is more popular than Jesus.

All superstar athletes are more than just their sport. Still, this is fricking stupid. If we were going by brands, Pacquiao would be #1 and Tiger would be #2.

first of all, only 1/3rd at best of US sports fans have basketball as their #1 sport. Maybe only 1/4. Lebron is a big fish in a medium sized pond. He has to do more. If L.A. gets one more player, or Oklahoma, they can beat Miami. One championship does not make him biggest in the world. He's probably not even the favorite player in the USA. Its probably Brady. There are probably A FEW NFL QB's who are bigger stars than LeBron.
And NASCAR drivers. LeBron has won ONE NBA championship in a year when the two other best players in the league both went down, Orlando's center, SUPERMAN, and Chicago's Rose.
So its not all that impressive.
Like I said, Brady, Manning, they are bigger. Manning gets Denver to the Superbowl, his fame will DWARF LeBron.
Brady too. They are already big. If they do it again, it will be MONSTER.
Many of the great ones in the NBA won three.
Wilt averaged 50 points and 26 rebounds one season.
Come on man.
1. pro football
2. college football
3. reruns of pro and college football
Someone posted Messi. Good enough guess.
