The topic is "who is the worst overall #1 pick," not "which #1 pick used their talent least to its fullest." For the latter, Jamarcus is currently up there. For the former, noone is worse than Ki-Jana Carter.

Close but I put Courtney Brown ahead of him.

I thoughy about Brown as well. They were comparing him to Reggie White in Cleveland before he even stepped foot on the field. Brown and Carter--super busts.

Touche. In terms of production, yes, Carter is the worst pick. Even though Jamarcus is a couple of seasons with a 44.0 QB Rating of unseating him.

Wasn't Aundrey Bruce a #1 pick? He was a pretty big bust.

JR = or > Aundray Bruce, or Steve Emtman.

JR >>> Ki-Jana Carter, Tim Couch, and Big Dan Wilkinson

DING

42 starts in 11 year career.

JR has 25 starts in only 3.

Worse than Ki-Jana Carter? I don't think so.

I'm with the other poster in giving Carter a little slack due to the fact that he had both of his knees destroyed. Russell has no injuries to deal with (other than being a member of the Oakland Raiders) and is just total fail based solely on his ability.

Yes, and we've determined that injuries, while unfortunate, are still part of the package in determining who the "worst" #1 pick of all time is. Yes, bad luck that he tore up his knees. Still a bad pick in retrospect. Still horrible stats--14 starts in 7 years--1114 yards rushing--total. No arguing that, I'm afraid.

Tim Couch....

JR may be on his way, but you have to give him some time to see how he works out.

What a joke. Couch was a legit quarterback on a Browns team that was 10 time worst than any team Russell has played on. Couch was a hard worker and took the Browns to the playoffs. He had arm injuries that ended a promising career early.

Russell is just a fricking waste.

Jamarcus can play well if he puts his mind to it.

Are you sure of this statement? I don't know if his struggles are due to his current organization, the level of athletes at the pro level, his work ethic or his mental capabilities...but if I were an Oakland fan, I would believe he is one if not the worst number one ever.

YOU may have determined that. I respectfully disagree.

Huge difference in receiver and QB. If Russell was a TE it wouldnt matter. Moss has had over 1k yeards each season he played 15 games or more. Also that started in Minn not Oak.

And at least he started a charity in Oakland while he was there for all of 2 years.

I am pretty sure Moss lobbied like hell to get out of Oakland so he could be excited about playing again. Russell isnt doing shite.
