Considering the amount of times he choked, he definitely didn't achieve what he should have.

What the damn hell? Frat Freddy aint no underachiever. He's holds the PGA record for most wins by a player with a kanked up back. Sergio's bitch arse is an underachiever.

I'd give the nod to Sergio.

But if you would have told me 25 years ago that Freddy & DL III would only have 2 majors between 'em I would have bet the ranch on the over.

If I could have any swing in golf I would want Freddy Couples' swing.

I hear a lot of people say this, and when I was younger, I used to think it too. But as sweet and smooth as his swing is, there are plenty of golfers whose swing is more technically sound. It works for Fred, but I'd pick a host of other golfers' swings to copy before Couples'. He's definitely my favorite all-time golfer though, and I'm pulling for him really hard this weekend.

Holy shite! You just called the 2nd best golfer ever and a player who could intimidate the other competitors in his sport more than anyone I've ever seen an underachiever.

Is Fred Couples the biggest underachiever in golf?

. He has the most talent in the golfing world and he cant make the cut half the time. Yea , Id call that underachieving.

I made that clear , Im not talking about his past, Im talking about now! How long has it been since hes been close to winning a tourny?

Do you know what currently is? Yes as of TODAY he sucks
He has the most talent in the golfing world ,and scrambles to make the cut (as of the last year). I think that qualifies him as one hell of an underachiever.Im talking about the present, and I made that perfectly clear. At this time in his career he intimadates NO ONE, except his next door neibours gardener

Tiger has some perfectly legitimate reasons for not playing up to his talent level right now. I don't know of any athlete that could go through what he went through (granted it was by his own doing) that would be able to continue to perform at the highest level.

This statement is ridiculous. He's ranked 3rd in the world. He definitely isn't the Tiger we're used to, but he doesn't "suck."

This thread was about a career. To take a snapshot of Tiger's career and call him an underachiever is incredibly short sighted. Even if you just want to look at last year, I could find a golfer or two other than Tiger, who finished 4th in 2 majors, to call a bigger underachiever. Sergio Garcia immediately comes to mind.

Why ? Is he injured?

Where did it say that?

Ok ,the best golfer in the world cant come close to winning anything. This is not underachieving?

You are calling Sergio an equal in talent to Tiger?

I also thought the last year WAS included in his career.

OK the so called best golfer in the world cant come close to winning a tourney. Nothing was said about career. He is NOT injured. He does not have a legit excuse. And the last year DOES count as part of his career. Soooo, compared to his talent ,he is currently the most underachieving golfer in the sport. Most talent, least results. This thread has been phishing for this the whole thread. MOST TALENT, least results=most underachieving golfer in the world ,at this time in his career. If the thread wanted to talk about career,it should say so. It doesnt

Same here...as well as his demeanor. If there was ever a golfer with swagger, it's Freddy. He walks the course like he owns it

Walking as if you've taken too many muscle relaxers is not the same as swagger. I've always liked him, but the word is that he's only won 1 major because he is lazy and didn't think practicing was worth missing his valuable couch and soap opera time.

horseshoes and handgarnades

so "frickin close", is good enough for the most talented golfer in the world . One frickin close in a year makes Tigers season a success.

Wait he did score 15 "hole in ones"
Im sure he did consider them trophies

Don't confuse "laid back' with "underachiever". Freddy is a competitor. Plus he dresses great.
