I'm from NI and I've seen worse stadiums than LGP. Parking is bad for big games though.

I've never sat in those bleachers. I just looked in my old yearbooks that include some pictures where you can see the other side of the field, and if these are the same bleachers, it looks more like 10 than 7.

Is this to settle a bet, or have some bearing on the outcome of the game?

If it means that much to you, I could possibly dig up an old VHS and see for sure.

Donald G. Porter has a very large grandstand on the home side and about ten rows of bleachers from the 30 to the 30 on the visitor's side

it is on Center St, which is LA HWY 14 exit off of HWY 90

it is not a bad part of town, it is not a good part of town but there is NO parking lot at the stadium so expect a lot of Iberia Parish Sheriff's Deputies working the streets around the stadium so I would expect it to be fairly safe

There are no concessions on the visitors side that I am aware of unless they bring in a trailer. The only bathrooms are on the home side and you will have to walk back and forth around the end zones a lot

I heard nothing on the local news about smashing windows, and if it happened they would have talked about it Fri/Sat/Sun nights

Lloyd G. Porter is actually older than 40-50 years. The school dates back to '27, and was the old high school that became the junior high in later years.

It is no longer used as a school. The stadium has adequate seating as far as total attendance. Of course, it's been twenty years since I've been to a game and more since I played. I think the visitor's side has three sets of bleachers that I would guess are more than seven rows.

I seem to remember some of our playoff and rivalry games at 10,000+. This was standing room included. These were NISH games however, there was no Westgate at this time.

Thanks for posting this.

please change the title. it is not "Westgate's Stadium". Westgate only uses the field for home games.

There is a parking lot in the stadium. Just ask the cop that will be working with traffic to show you where ti is.

and there is a concession stand. the only reason why SL said there was none because they weren't allowed to use the home side. At the end of the bleachers on the away side there is a small building that does concessions.

No it's not. Like Supah said, it's not in the ghetto, but it's not in a great neighborhood either. I worked in NI for years, and traffic around games over there is terrible. But there will be plenty of cops out. Unless they are all going to watch CHSNI play.

They have about 20 cops each game. thats counting traffic and security.
