Damn, Newgarden and Power last week didn't deserve those endings.

Sato should have finished no better than P20, but with that alternate strategy and fresh reds for the last few laps, he picked off three guys on the last lap to finish P8!

Fun race today....lots of aggressive driving all over the track.

Also, happy to see O'ward and Herta just go for it...

ND Grosjean with a 5th place finish. Dale Coyne is doing pretty well with this pick up.

Yeah tons of action today. I've noticed that at Road America, "rubbin' is racing." There's always a lot of nudging guys over to make the pass.

Road America is a great track with excellent racing. Indycar's should have never left.

It was better before they had to put the fencing up all the way around. Standing behind a wall only at Station 5 as they came screaming in was awesome. With the fence one can't see up the track well.

Yup, at Laguna Seca I used to be able to stand right next to the wall (when I had a photo pass) with guys going by at 180 mph. Then they put up a fence all the way around (even in ridiculous places like the inside of slow corners) and suddenly the view was much worse and numerous great photo spots were gone.

Did they put up all of that fencing right after Cristiano da Matta got nailed by the deer?

They had to put the fencing up for the FIA certification as I recall.

A Ferrari Challenge car got into the fence right in the area I would stake out. Fence still sucks.

Ferrari airborne into the fence

Road America won't let the pit crews go to the wall along the front stretch anymore either to celebrate at the end of the race. No fun police.

I know a dumb question but does anybody use Road Atlanta in a major car series? Or is it just motorcycles

Neither Nascar nor Indycar run there. I think IMSA does.

Would be a good track for Nascar but they already run in Atlanta on the oval.

As I understand it, Indycars are too fast for Road Atlanta. There is not enough run off after the kink. The track would require some changes to make it safe for indycar.

Someone the other day called it one of the worst tracks in the world.

I raced there in SCCA before they put the kink in the back stretch. Going down the rollercoaster and heading back up the hill towards the concrete Nissan Bridge was the most sphincter tightening experience ever. My brakes would always overheat at that track and boil the fluid out of the calipers so you had to pump them coming up to the bridge every lap and pray they worked.

I've just seen some vids of Road Atlanta from back in the day, but going through the dip then over the hill into a corner in a Can Am car had to test ones testicular fortitude.

IMSA Petite Le Mans... 10hour race. You get to see a lot of the big name drivers from Indy come in for the 3rd drivers. It's usually in October, but it's November this year.

It's my favorite event of the year of all sports... spend almost the whole week there in the RV. Awesome track and race.

That triggered who said it. Pretty sure it was Randy Pobst via Vinwiki who was talking about hot lapping some hypercars around Road Atlanta.

Newgarden may actually win a race he's supposed to win.

I wish Dixon were closer to Ericsson, to see if Ganassi would ask Ericsson to let Dixon by for the championship points. The P1-P2-P3 gaps are huge. That sucks.

We were robbed of a race with Herta's pit problems. Dixon dropped way behind Palou. I'd be happy to see Palou win the championship,so good to see him on the podium.
