In your opinion, is UK vs Indiana still a "big" basketball rivalry?

I wish it still was, but I can't say it is. I really can't say it's a "rivalry" at all. It doesn't help that I'm 24 and Indiana has been mostly mediocre for almost as long as I can remember. Or at least since I've been closely following sports.

red = no
blue = yes

Indiana hasn't been relevant in years. The last time was probably when they played for the national title in 2002.

About as much as UK-Ark. That is to say, not at all.

That looks about right with the handful of Hoosier fans talking shite and no one else except some media looking for filler giving a shite.

ETA: Fav "recent" IU vs. UK moment = Mike Davis losing his mind and getting ejected mid court. Can't believe that was 10 years ago.

No. It might be again in a few years though. Crean has seemingly righted the ship at Indiana.

It was a pretty good rivalry during Knight's years, especially when we weren't playing in-state rival Louisville. It's just been awhile.

Was it a rivalry from 1986 to 1990? Indiana used to dominate UK.

Umm, no. The series is 31-23 in UK's favor. IU had a streak where they won 5 in a row in the 70s otherwise it's been UK heavy after the fact.

The '93 game with Pitino and Knight with both teams in the Top 5 was fantastic.

I think it is. Kentucky and Indiana are two of the most storied basketball programs in the history of the game.

I think Crean has them on the road back. Watched them play NC State (with Gotfried ) and was very impressed with Zeller. I thought he was every bit as good if not better than his heralded UNC bro.
