Do you disagree that athletes work out on their own time all the time or do you disagree that the same risk applies for those players who choose to work out on their own regardless of not going to OTAs?

Like I get the optics of it look bad because they didn’t go to OTAs, but this exact same risk is there everytime the players work out at their home, or fly to California for an offseason passing session with their WRs

Maybe don’t sign in a stipulation that voids $10m if injured outside of the team facilities then.

It’s not a stipulation of his contract, it’s a basic concept of all NFL contracts. The NFL CBA exert was shown earlier that says exactly this

quote:

"Injuries sustained while a player is working out 'on his own' in a location other than an NFL facility are considered 'Non-Football Injuries' and are outside the scope of a typical skill, injury and cap guarantee. Such injuries are also not covered by the protections found in paragraph 9 of the NFL Player Contract, meaning that clubs have no contractual obligation to provide salary continuation during the year the injury was sustained."

This applies across the board, not just to James or other players who did not go to OTAs

Pat Mahommes could tear his ACL tommorow in a pick up game and the chiefs would have no obligation to pay him his 2021 salary
