This years Mavs team has good chemistry and is a championship caliber team, but it still lacks an All Star or all-NBA player to compliment Nowitkzi that most teams have required to win championships.

However, payroll =/= talent... Mavs had high payrolls last 3 years and Dirk's teammates absolutely shite the bed. fricking Brandon Bass was the 2nd best Mav in the '08 and '09 playoffs.

Yeah last season if they had Allen Iverson it would have put them over the top.

"How many other all-stars does dirk play with?"

3.

Also a 6th man of the year. Also a member of the US National Team.

Wouldn't say the Mavs are exactly deprived of talent.

Nobody on the Mavs is an all star this year (which is what matters), besides Dirk of course.

Nobody said the Mavs are deprived of talent, but the point still stands that they lack an all-NBA caliber teammate or even an All-Star

WITH A CAST OF GREAT BENCH players. DIRK was a NON-factor. DON"T EVER TELL me DIRK doesn't have talent around him.

Dirk didn't have talent around him the last 3 years

This is the first year in the past 4 his teammates stepped up.

And even then, the point stands... no all-star teammate, no all-NBA caliber teammate...

At least this year he has an all-defense teammate in Chandler.

and that's why we're gonna win it all.

Thanks for your input, even though it wasn't an argument.

I answered the question of how many all-stars were on the team. I didn't argue they were in their prime.

But now that Dallas is potentially on the ropes, the Mavs lovers are coming to the front by saying they don't have enough talent. According to them, the beat more talented teams in LAL and OKC, so why would that be an excuse against Miami.

So u want dirk to get all the points, all the rebounds and basically do everything. Basically he is doing the one on three thing Lebron tried to do his whole career. But if dirk had sidekicks like wade and bosh and was winning titles you'd think he was great. Typical one of those hypocrites

so by simply answering "3" you knew you were making a disingenuous and intellectually dishonest argument. glad we agree.

not sure if this part is directed at me, because i am certainly not making excuses for the mavs.
they lost gm 1 because they didnt make open shots. shots that usually went down in the previous series. if they do not shoot better when open, they are going to be swept.

as for the talent level, i think its a pretty obvious fact they dont have the same horses as miami. dallas is deeper, no doubt, but if the #1s cancel each other out in lebron and dirk, the #2s and 3s for miami are FAR superior.
