With the decision ahead of us from Cardale Jones, I hope his decision will be to go back to school to improve on my game. We seem to loose

Yeah, that's jibberish.

And Donovan is just talking out of his arse.

That's such a narcissistic thing to say. He has no idea the situation.

He should.

He's already 22.

His measurables with those 3 quality wins in championship game settings will get him drafted. Possibly as early as round 2-3.

He won't have any pressure to carry a franchise whatsoever as whoever drafts him will understand he will need time to develop. It is such a win/win situation for him right now to go.

The full tweet was broke into 3:

We seem to loose Focus on getting your degree, and preparing for plan B of your life. Football will always be there. And if you are projected 3-4th round you Can improve your stock next year. Don't get caught up in the hoopla and cloud your judgement. You control your own destiny and future. You must understand if u are projected 3rd or 4th round you might not get drafted till the 5th-6th round. Theres no patience in the NFL.

Damn I didn't realize that. I'd probably head to the NFL, also. If he kills the combine he could easily be a mid 2nd round pick.

Have you ever seen a guy step in and start 3 championship games? Winning them all easily? And then declaring for the NFL? (if in fact he does).

Edit: The whole situation is just weird. Braxton, JT, and Cardale all very good QBs, and all have numerous options to pursue. Whether it is transferring/staying/or going pro.

These situations are so mutually exclusive of each other that you can't tell every kid it's best to stay in school.

College will always be there too. He will get free education when he returns. Why not give it a go now?

I give him a lot of credit. I think going to the NFL is the harder more to make, but the right one.

Has never happened so,

There is no precedent either way.

It was a crazy situation what he did from the get-go. So I don't see this as that crazy.

Yeah, two high profile players deciding on their future is somewhat common at the same position. Three is pretty unheard of, especially at the level that they attained.

So, I assume you want Cardale coming back and starting next year?

I want Cardale to go pro and get drafted in the second round.

JT Barrett to play QB and Braxton Miller play H-back.

Dude isn't getting drafted high with only 3 starts under his belt

Dude is behind JT Barrett on the depth chart. He was actually looking to be behind this guy for the remainder of his eligibility!! And now he has a GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY.. I don't see that(depth chart) changing regardless what people think. And the dude is old. JT Barrett is still the better college QB to this point (not saying pro) and Jones has the most measurables of a pro-style QB there. He's already won a national title.

Why should he return and risk sitting the bench, injury, or even at worse he could play poorly and hurt his stock rather than help it.

Sure he could try to be a 1st round draft pick, but that's going to take a lot of time to cement when he is for sure going to get drafted now.

Teddy Bridgewater a late 1st rounder only got a 5.5 Million Dollar deal.. and again he's actually having to play.

Derek Carr in the 2nd round last season got 4 year deal worth 5.3 Million and he actually has to start. Cardele could get a similar contract and be expected to sit the bench while he learns.

Thomas Logan in the later 4th round got 2.2 million.

AJ McCarron was a starter forever and went in the very late 5th round and got a 2.4 million dollar contract.

The only time it makes a significant difference is when you are a for sure top 10 draft pick, and the likelihood of that is so rare.. Especially for a guy who was just sitting behind a RS Freshman.

I just re-watched some of Cardale's throws in the title game, and it is just effortless for him. He may not be up to NFL Game speed in terms of accuracy and precision, but there is a ton of upside and potential in his game. And with this quarterback class, I could see him going a lot sooner than he's currently being projected.
