Why?

because they already have enough money?

It's the Super Bowl. 95% of the people were watching for the commercials. Just because the Super Bowl draws eyeballs doesn't mean that sub-par talent in week 4 will do the same.

You're assuming that they will have sub par talent. You are assuming that players won't cross.

You dolts on the player's side seem to be ignorant to the fact that Tom Brady was a benchrider until someone got injured. There are dozens of good players in the league that didn't get to play until someone got hurt or someone left their team or until they were traded. A;; those players who were making the league minimum would be more than happy to cross over and prove themselves.

The Carolina Panthers went 1-15 this year and their bottom line didn't suffer one bit. Why? They sold out 99& percent of their tickets by the end of May.

I guarantee you it did just based on people not showing up to their games making concessions, parking, and apparel revenue all suffer.

in the 90's, when the saints were at their worst, they were one of the most profitable teams in the league

do you honestly think that there enough elite athletes walking the streets right now to make an entertaining football league?

Because they were still playing teams that had stars.

LMAO. This dumbass didn't even read my post. Their bottomline wasn't hurt because tickets were sold FAR in advance of the games. 95% of NFL tickets are sold weeks in advance of games. Season tickets are bought in paid for in the spring and summer before the season starts. If you don't renew, you lose your tickets. Someone else will be waiting to buy them up.

There are thousands of football players each year whose football playing days end in college because they are never given a chance to prove themselves. Hell didn't the saints find a kick returner who was a budweiser delivery man?

I don't watch HS football, because it's shitty football. And there is a difference in watching College football vs pro football. There are different expectations. And replacement players would have no chance of living up to the expectations set by the current professionals.

Yes, questioning why someone has blind allegiance to the owners simply "cause they own the shite"

How about having allegiance to the owners because they've made you all filthy rich, richer than you'd ever be if the league didn't exist? Or because the owners still may the multimillion dollar salaries to a player who goes on IR and can't contribute. Or because the owners put them up at swanky hotels on the road, have people to cater to anything they want....

It's not like the owners are trying to make the players poor, they're trying to use the profits that the company they own makes and in most cases fund other business ventures, many of which are losing money in today's economy. For instance, what if Bob Kraft had to use profits from the Patriots to keep his factories open?

then you are pretty much retarded. If those people you think are elite athletes truly were, they wouldn't be walking the streets right now, they would be making money off of their athletic ability.

So you expect significantly lower quality from your college football?

Based on what?

You are STILL assuming that players wouldn't cross. 7^ of the players would cross. Not every player gets the money from salary and endorsements that Manning and Brees do. The Saints back up center isn't rolling in the duckies bruh.

well I'll be goddamned if this whole fight isn't going to revolve around the value of kick returners.

There are outliers like Warner etc. But they're not the norm.

If you think you're just gonna go scour rec leagues for Clay Matthews or Aaron Rodgers, think again.

They only get to do this because of the work of the players.

Players have to live in this economy too, they're just trying to make profits from the job they work.
