Bill Walton's ongoing ankle injuries that messed up his career and required him to have ankle fusion surgery.

Yup. Ankle was that messed up. (Also a bone fracture in his foot.)

Some clowns (like Shaq) think Bill Walton's HOF Induction was a joke.

He totally dominated the league that boasted excellent Centers while he was relatively healthy, including during Blazers '77 NBA Championship and for 58 games of 1978 (50-8 before getting hurt). Blazers would have also won in '78 had he not gotten hurt. That man was a force who could do it all.

Erasing Bill Walton's injuries is the NBA's greatest, "WHAT IF?".

Missed 3 full years yet never gave up. Crazy how Walton somehow managed to still return NINE years after his crippling ankle / foot injuries to play in 1986 for the Bird-Celts at near peak level as a 6th-Man. He had the heart of a lion and played the game with joy. I loved watching that guy.

Apparently his [Arvydas Sabonis] in his prime was in the 80s when he was still behind the Iron Curtain. Hubie Brown and the old heads talk about him as if he were Keyser Soze back then.

The NBA got him as an old man.

Apparently he was Shaq and Bill Walton when he was playing for the Soviets.

I love Shaq, but it’s the Basketball Hall of Fame. Bill Walton was one of the best college players ever and the years he was really healthy Portland and Boston won championships. That qualifies you for admission
