it's your notion the crowd is mainly corporate

According to the NFL, 35 percent of the tickets have gone to the teams playing in the game (17.5 percent to the AFC champion and 17.5 percent to the NFC champion). Another 6.2 percent has gone to the host city team and one-third (33.6 percent) are split between the 29 other teams. The NFL has kept about 25 percent for media, staff, a small lottery or anyone else it wants.

58% doesn't go to the teams playing in it unless they buy on secondary market Median income for NFL fans is $51k from 2014 (only place I found). 24% will go to Viking fans/Minneapolis. 41% total for fans of both teams. Vikings fans will have to buy a shite ton of secondary market tickets to have a majority of people there.

Yeah I know but that'll make the prices go further up in the secondary market.

Maybe I heard him wrong, but this is straight from a SBL holder. He called and asked what the prices would be and that's what he was told. Would the allotment for the host city cost more than the allotment to the teams? He called before the season, not when it was looking like the Vikings could make it.

None of what you are saying is wrong.

For example, the Vikings could allocate 500-1,000 tickets (number is obviously not exact, but it is a fairly small number) to their SBL holders to buy at face value. Anyone else who did not get selected would have to purchase through the NFL Experience packages (or go to the secondary market).

The host would get some tickets as well. All tickets sold as tickets only must be sold at face value.

But the buyers willing to pay a fortune own a SBL. The median income for their SBL owners is six figures (and that is the case for all season ticket holders of the 32 fan bases).

True so the 17.5% will be bought up. How does the host allotment get sold?

And who will be paying that?

Imagine the crowd for a Vikings vs. Jaguars Super Bowl...

Not sure, and I doubt that much of it entires the public sphere. However, that could change this year if the Vikings make it.

I honestly can't see it being that many home fans. It'll be mostly corporate anyway.

The cursed Vikings going to the super bowl is like when the Saints went. Those fans will eat up any ticket they can find. Especially with it being at home.

I really hope they make it.
