It’s weird because he catches it, gets both feet in, then the defender knocks around it but he never loses the ball. We really have no idea what a catch is anymore. I could really go either way on it. It’s both a catch and not a catch.

You must maintain possession until you’re completely out of bounds and then politely hand the ball back to the refs or it doesn’t count.

So now you can knock the ball out of the guy's hand after he already caught it in the endzone and it negates the catch they made earlier?
He caught it and had it already when it was knocked loose. He was in the endzone and had both feet already down.
