Iniesta would be good in any league. He flat out never loses the ball. You don't have to score goals to be a good center mid, actually watch him play instead of looking up his stats on the internet.

I don't think he be would nearly as good in the EPL. I have seen him play dozens of times. I remember the CL goal. If he's the best center mid in the world he would have started. This is a stupid argumnet.

i mean if you wanted to break down the positions into attacking central midfielders and "center mids" then it could make sense

lampard and gerrard are definitely better attackers

but a CM is supposed to be a distributor, which is why iniesta clearly is better than both

if we had a competition over what CM kicks the ball as hard as he can and has the most combined missed footage of goal then lampard would win both handily

Xavi is very good and I could see that argument but don't come at me with that Lampard bullshite. I'd still take Iniesta over every center mid in the world.

You think Iniesta is better at the same position than Steven Gerrard? All around? I don't think it's close.

FWIW, Gerrard had 9 assists and Lampard had 10 assists this past season, while Iniesta had 8.

For comparison, Xavi, the other center mid for Barcelona, had 20.

Xavi is very very good, and plays more than Iniesta. But if this is personal preference, I take Iniesta, Lampard sucks though.

Fabregas isn't in Xavi or Iniesta's neighborhood right now.

Ok, Lampard.

You say that Iniesta doesn't need to score goals because he has Messi, and Eto'o(gone).

Frank Lampard has Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba. I would say he is more than good at distributing the ball. He scores three times as many goals as Iniesta... he is the CM for a team who produced the top scorer in the toughest league in the world... I will pimp Frank Lampard all fricking day long. He misses some long range shots... this is true... but he scores alot too. Maybe you didn't watch yesterday.
