why? i do agree that Lebron would be a better choice for this scenario.
His size and strength combo can barely be matched in the NBA. So there is no way in hell it could even come close to being matched in college.
Now, if Kobe is shooting the lights out of the ball, and he goes off for 55 (which is very possible against any college team including UNC), they would probably win. I just like my chances if I had Lebron more because of his physique. However, if Lebron is struggling from the outside, and they double him even when he is outside the arc, they could definitely lose.
But if Lebron gets the outlet pass and goes in transition all game, nobody can stop him.

Pitt was up by like 3 on their 16 seed with like 3:30 left.
It was one game where Pitt played damn near it's worst possible game. They still won comfortably anyways. What about teams like Uconn and UNC who crushed in rd 1?
The role players that LBJ (for instance) would be playing with are just too fricking terrible. The majority of them can't even handle the ball or pass. Also, they'd have to win 6 in a row, it's just unlikely imo.

Yea, but once they beat the 1 seed, it would theoretically be easier from there, until the final four.

Even if LBJ is allowed to patrol the lane he will wear down at some point
I doubt it. The college game is a good bit shorter than the NBA game.
They also have several three point shooters which would easily be open because of Lebron. They also have a few other big guys.

who in the field could stop Lebron from driving to the goal. The man would average over 40 a game.

I was thinking NO Radford couldn't win it all.
that's bc you were probably right. they would not win it, with just one player like lebron. if a 8-9 seed had lebron, game over.

Don't forget Lebron wouldn't get the benefit of the "no charge" semi-circle on his drives to the lane. He would pick up charges all day if he just lowered his shoulder and tried to barrel his way to the basket.

Do you all still think Lebron and 4 small school scrubs easily wins the NCAA tourney. The hands down best college player in america and future #1 pick with a much better supporting cast than LBJ would have in the scenario is down by 20.
Glad to see some help coming my way as I thought I was the only one who didn't think that Radford plus LeBron would win it all.

I would see Lebron scoring around 80 points at least.
At least 80 points???
Lebron right out of high school would score at LEAST 80 points against a UNC squad???

That TEAM probably wouldn't score 80 much less the entire team.

So, yea, Lebron right out of high school would be pretty much as dominant as a college basketball player could be, BUT what if he had 1 bad game???
That could still be 30 points, but maybe on 11-32 shooting or something. It certainly could happen in a 1 game scenario. Who's gonna pick up the team while they're playing 2 or 3 straight top 10 or 15 opponents???
I simply think there is ZERO chance that team would win a national championship, NONE!!!
