Maybe not. I've seen him numerous times out in the city. He's actually in Chelsea a good bit and he's always drunk or getting there.

Hahaha. He likes to have fun.

Have you seen the documentary "Fire and Ice" about him and Borg? His old doubles partner tells a story about Johnny Mac going out and partying until 4 in the morning, waking up with a nasty hangover, and then winning the noon final like 6-2, 6-3. I'm sure it happened more than a few times.

The 5.0 level in tennis is a ghost town, though. Guys that are really good will tank matches to remain at 4.5 and avoid getting bumped to 5.0.

I'm skipping all these bullshite answers and telling you he would win it. I was at IMG when henin lost to a fricking junior. The differences in the men's and women's games are massive. This is almost a joke anyone would consider a serve and volley guru to not dominate. Agassi could win this thing with his stiff self, he would roast a flat 125 from either williams.

Did you read the bullshite answers? They sounded a lot like your answer.

It would be a complete slaughter, not even Serena would have a chance.

What about Rafa entering a WTA slam .... but he has to play right-handed?

Would anyone take a game off him?

Serena would hold serve most of the time. Serena can serve like a dude.

Mac's lefty serve and net play would befuddle her, and he would win as a result, but the scoreline wouldn't indicate a slaughter.

At least that's how I think it would play out.

Hmmm....I wonder how his righty serve is. I mean, he is right handed...

He apparently does everything else righty, so yeah, there would still be beatdowns. I love how they act like he is a true righty and just miraculously manufactured himself into a left hander, as if he is not basically ambidextrous. That said, Uncle Toni's decision to have Rafa play the game left handed changed the history of the sport. That's crazy to think about.

The NTRP rating discussion is funny. I don't even know what a 5.0-6.5 is in real life. Do they just play open tournaments? 95% of players are between 3.5 and 4.5. 3.5 can go from basically beginners to solid club players. I have seen highly ranked local kids and club pros in 4.0, which is a joke. I assume the good college players and great club pros are 4.5s.

Not to derail the thread, but another hypothetical that comes up a lot is how far Pete could go at Wimbledon right now in 2 out of 3. Many think he could make the semis. I don't think so with the slower courts and poly strings, but I'd love to see it.

Anyway, tennis fanboy Larry Ellison needs to pony up for one of these battle of the sexes matches.

A 4.5 USTA team comprised of guys from my hometown advanced to the national finals, and I'm fairly certain they won (I could check this). They probably regret it, because the USTA bumped everybody to 5.0 when it was over.

The two best guys on the team played college tennis and were in their mid 20s, so, yeah, if they weren't 5.0s then who the heck is? Actually, everybody on the team played college tennis somewhere, but everybody but the two best guys were 35+.

The range in the 4.0 group is laughingly wide. You get everybody from complete club hacks to former small college players doing everything in their power to not get bumped to 4.5. I consider myself a 4.5, but I would never ever ever formally rate myself as such.

When did he do that series of exhibitions against Federer? Was that like four years ago? At that point, he could have advanced to the semis. He was in excellent form.

But now he's 41...I just don't see it happening.

Bryan and I were on the same HS team. He played 1, and I played 2. We won States. Yeah, I'm bragging.

Andy was like four or five years younger than me and I used to deliver him regular beatings. I never played him after he hit puberty. He would have destroyed me. He played at Va. Tech. His sister did as well, but she couldn't beat me. Never took a set off me. Also, I banged her a few times.

The NTRP ratings in Baton Rouge suck. talk about some sandbagging going on.... after a few national championships and also runner ups, they stepped in and bumped up a lot of people across the board.

Yeah, I follow Vol tennis.

You beat JP Smith and also played Rhyne? Juniors or college?
