All year long when I looked at the college football season schedule it said 1/4 game in Dallas and 3/2 game in Dallas. What changed?

This helps ND playing on the turf field and less Clemson fans than would be in Miami.

The rules specifically say they move them to give the upper seed a more favorable spot

Did you see anywhere yesterday where the 1/4 would take place in Miami? How did they determine this and why would it change?

I’d like to know the mechanics of it all that’s all

Pretty simple. Miami is a more favorable location for Alabama than Dallas. Dallas would be a virtual Oklahoma home game.

ETA: Think of it like this: If Alabama were the 1 seed, and USC the 4 seed, and the semifinal locations were the Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl, they are going to play in the Sugar Bowl.

they should do it based off the teams and the location.

Alabama and Oklahoma would bring more people to dallas than Notre Dame/Clemson.

the #1 team gets the location which is more geographically favorable to them.
