at least the all star game is just a team playing an EPL team...that's not a horrible idea
if it was an actual MLS vs. MLS game, then it would blow

playoffs i could do without
but the all star game is fun to watch, it helps both sides- getting MLS some exposure, and getting an english team some work before their season starts

I did like it when they beat chelsea in what? summer of '06
it was nice watching "the chosen one" explain that (he said fitness)
but they do have a three game win streak against higher level clubs, who do put out slightly weaker squads, but close

The Special One.
Nice sentiments, y'all.
Interesting it was Capello who benched Beckham at the Bernabeu, and it's now Capello who's evaluating Beckham, and will likely give him the record for caps.
MLS will expand into Florida, even though Florida's MLS record stinks....Miami and Tampa both failed. The new Miami franchise will have ties (and hopefully money from) to FC Barcelona.
I'd like to see a single table, home and away in MLS. As stated, though, the travel is brutal. I could endorse two single table divisions/conferences playing home and away each season. THEN, play ONCE against each team in the other conference. Simply alternate the home game each year.
If we HAVE to have a playoff, let the two division winners play a two leg final.
There's still the U. S. Open Cup out there to play for, as well as CONCACAF Champions' League.

This is what I think they may move towards. Like the AL - NL in the MLB. There are some issues with awards, cup and competition qualifying, unbalanced scheduling where every team doesn't play every other team, etc that would need to be addressed, though.

I agree CTF. It'd be a step in the right direction, though, and like we've said, this country may be simply too large for single table :(
I forgot.....Beckham is not a player to take a team on his back. He doesn't do well when he's the best player on a team. That was expected of him at Galaxy and he failed. At AC Milan, he's not. He's a really good player on a team of GREAT players and he'll thrive in that environment. He's surrounded by Pirlo, Ambrosini, Seedorf, Kaka, the great Pato.
When it's Beckham and ten, forget it. His talent is passing the ball, crossing the ball, corners. He's got no pace, no size, he's only ordinary and getting older. I think Galaxy would do well to sell him, and rebuild the league's flagship franchise (for better or for worse)
