That LSU team was great defensively....that's it, unfortunately.
It was the highest-scoring team in the SEC and crushed everyone in the regular season, besides Alabama.
That team was basically an all-time team.
This Ohio State team is not. Their teams the next few years might be a different story.

I didn't see an official pick, but from less than a week before the game:

That's the point. This dudes making excuses about how these guys were injured yet tOSU was 3 deep at QB. The coach put him in a position to be successful. You say your #1 CB and #1 WR weren't there yet you don't have roster restraints. Next man up. Quit making excuses.

tOSU improved over the season you dolt. That is a team that beat Wisconsin 59-0 but lost in the first half of the season to an average VAtech team. Teams can take big steps forward during the year. I am saying the NCG was a preview of next year.

All of it was because the D.

Wasn't agreeing with him. Difference is this team has a good D AND can score without the D handing them excellent field position.

I am not making an injury excuse. We lose with our guys in there.

That's no certainty.
Yall could have won last night if your receivers didn't drop several balls.

LSU had 2 NFL running backs (maybe more to come) and 3 NFL wide receivers on that team, and one of the best O-lines we've ever had (forgetting the title game).
That was one of the best offenses we've had. It had big-play potential.
Obviously the defense was the better unit, but that was a complete team.

Without a HUGE passing game esp when Miles screwed up and started playing JJ..........

Randle gave us the passing threat we needed. Teams had to send two defenders over the top with him every time. Or else he would score.

I haven't said anything.
Props to Cardale, be unfortunate when he becomes next years backup.

2011 LSU is 2014 Alabama.

LSU had way more talent on defense than 2014 Alabama could dream of.

Part of the problem was your playcalling and not the athletes. Athletically, LSU 2011 is probably better than tOSU this year. However, Urban is a way better offensive coach and Jones is way more problematic for a defense. Also, Elliott is a better runningback than Ford and the other bruiser you had. Especially, when you know it's a pitch dive every play. The receiving threats were also very young outside of your #1 receiver who never smiled and never became what Landry and Beckham are.

No it wasn't, maybe if we had a head coach who could add 2+2.

Eh, I wouldn't go that far.
Offenses were different schematically, and LSU's D had a better pass rush than Bama.
