He was so terrible on shots he actually missed most on purpose to get more rebounds and pack up his stats

I was about to post the same thing Curly. He did this with opposing players as well, and if he didn't quite know, he would usually set up on the other side of the goal that the opposing player was shooting from

Dude was a beast. I do find it interesting how most of the specific comments reference his time in Chicago, but dude was a great player with Detroit in his pre-freaky stage of his carreer.

Aside from the obvious toughness, quickness, and length - the x factor had to be anticipation. What does the MSB think?
I remember him actually answering this question years ago. He said that he watched alot of film and had memorized each shooter's tendancies: how the ball spun out of their hands, the arc of their shot, how their shots would typically be off, etc. For the most part he paid very close attention to the ball spin of each player's shot.

Phil Jackson once said that Rodman was the most athletic person he ever coached. that's saying something

Which clearly explains his career .521 FG% and the year he led the league in FG%.

That must have been the most fun team to cover of all-time, from a media standpoint.

Rodman didn't become the guy he is now or who he was with the Spurs, Bulls, and Lakers until after he left Detroit.
Something changed in him when he left the Pistons.

Ever been to Detroit? I haven't but every account of that city would have me ecstatic when I got the chance to leave.
As I said earlier, its interesting how must in this topic mention the freak Rodman with the Bulls and beyond. But as a piston he was pretty straight lace.
