It really is, thanks to Mr. Benson.
There was an apartment complex on the site that I THINK belonged to Dillard University. It came available and the school jumped on it. I have also heard whispered that other buyers were talking of making it section 8. Dunno for surel

Lemme see what I can find. I have none!! I KNOW I took some photographs of them practicing there.

Google Earth has an old satellite photograph with the apartment building still there. Map Quest shows it to be gone.

Google Street View shows it with the new fence, but not anything else on site. There is a memorial, a container, and a portable toilet on site, and the grass is in better shape, now.

If you look across Elysian Fields just to the right of center, that L shaped piece of property...

Solid start. Help them keep making it better. Hopefully the neighborhood gets behind them.

The turf seems to be in pretty good shape, judging from the photo, I haven't been near there in over a year (that side of the street, since he stopped playing and graduated.) They have the nets above the fences all the way around, so that's a good thing.

One side of the field, on Elysian Fields is a dentist's office. Across the side street is the cemetery, so no complaints from the residents there. Most events on the field are over before sundown, so no powerful lights to bother the neighbors, although there are a few more for security than for night use.

It is not big enough to have any kind of seating, the back half is not, likely, wide enough for a full size field, but it is close.

All good start. Rome wasn't built in a day.
