And there was nothing else touching it?

You need possession of the ball going forward. Bobbling a ball in a forward motion isn’t a pass attempt.

Stetson didn’t spiral the way Bryce did when he fumbled forward earlier. Key difference

The ball moving forward was not in dispute.

Hypothetically...

He loses the ball and then the hand and arm go forward allowing the ball to move forward.

I could understand if it slipped out then he hit it forward but that didn’t happen. It’s physically impossible for the ball to move forward without the arm moving forward in that scenario

the ball was moving in his hand before the pass. Arguably it was in slow motion, but I think more to do with the call on the field allowing it to stand.

It isn’t? If a Georgia player caught it they would have ruled a fumble recovery and not a pass? I doubt that

He lost possession in the same motion that the ball went forward with. He didn’t lose possession then hit it

Y’all can’t be serious with this stuff. Have you never seen an “empty hand” fumble before tonight?

Even the Bama player kinda half arse caught it and just happened to be in bounds by a centimeter

Hell of a way to pick a champ

Yeah. Usually the ball ends up really close to the QB as it goes straight downward

Stetson is throwing some amazing downfield fumbles on this drive

Those typically go backwards and when they don’t there’s another force moving it forward. That didn’t happen on that play

Why wasn't this called intentional grounding when they overturned Youngs? I thought that was FOR SURE getting called

NCAA rulebook says the forward motion starts the pass if the ball is “firmly” in the QB’s hand. I don’t believe we saw that.
