Yep, if tech loses there’s no reason they should be in over Miami, notre dame, or even TEXAS

The committee has made it clear over the past two seasons that there is no benefit to playing hard non-conference games. It behooves you to schedule as many cupcakes as you can and then try to win your 2-3 big games each year.

Well ackshually…Florida State was 12-1, so technically not the same record. With no true national title game in those days, you had four schools that had a punchers chance of being declared national champs that year based on their bowl games, all of which were played on NYD. Those were the days…
