STM has been hitting the ball well the last two weeks. They will be tough to beat with pitcher by committee

Agree I expect 1 vs 2 in final

. 8-4A district might be the best softball district in the state (Vandy, EDW, Lutcher, assumption)

With 5-5A

9-5A accounted for itself pretty well so far in the playoffs. Curtis the frontrunner. Mount Carmel has hitting.

Agree 9-5A had done well in playoffs, but 8-4A (assumption, EDW, Vandy, Lutcher) combined is 11-1 this year vs (dom, MC, chap, JC)

I agree that district is better. I was just giving a little credit to the New Orleans district.

Doyle rallies from 3-2 deficit to beat Sterlington, 5-3.

Kassidy Rivero's two-out walk with the bases loaded tied it. Don't have the name of the next player yet who came through with the two-run hit. I was checking the game at red lights on the way home. I have more work to do at the moment.

P.S. Bella Collins gave up a couple of early solo HRs and a double but nothing else.

Doyle first baseman Genie Lovett (2026) had a two-run single with the score tied 3-3.

Just adding this info here....sorry for replying to myself. Just turned in a baseball story for deadline. That sun worked me over today.

You think Lutcher or Assumption have a chance in non select 2? North Desoto and Brusly look unstoppable.

Yes, I think they have a shot. This is the exact same scenario that played out in the finals last year. Lutcher over ND

In the other half. L Alleman has been untouchable pitching for Assumption.

Brusly had to come from behind to beat Albany in the second round. Both should be good semis imo

Probably the most overlooked player on Doyle from outsiders. I bet she makes 1st team all district. Kid is a beast on defense and comes up clutch at the plate.

Was impressed with the pitcher buckling down and only giving up a couple of singles after Doyle fell behind 3-1.

Parkview / Calvary will be a good one at noon tomorrow.

The 3 middle school phenom pitchers vs Calvary bats will be interesting. They’ll pitch around #14.

I predict the Gawlik sisters each hit one out and Parkview wins a close one. 5-3.

That's a gutsy prediction.

I'll be there today for Kaplan/Doyle and Mount Carmel/STM.

Will post links with game previews and live updates for anyone interested.

Sorry but Parkview doesn't have a chance against Calvary. Those pitchers are not that good to shut down Calvary's offense. Parkview's defense is shaky as well. Gawlik sisters are good, but not sure they can each hit a HR against the pitching at Calvary.

They didn’t have an issue against St Amant.
Or Lutcher
Or ED White
Or Jena

I guess we’ll see.

They not beating Calvary. The team Calvary has assembled is impressive to say the least. The combination of slappers with huge power hitters right behind them and having 3 pitchers that all look to throw over 60mph is pretty incredible.
