Actually, the rumors are that FSU and Clemson are pondering a move to the Big12.
That's what It thought too. So when I heard this, it did not seem right. And esp how USC(E)and UF and UGA were said to form a 3 member veto pact that they would block FSU, Clemson and GA Tech from any SEC entry.
I can see however how many top ACC teams would be ticked with the new ACC deal they just got. They know they could get tons more with the other Conferences... So that is the only reason why I think this rumor might be true and some teams are scrambling to get out of the ACC now as they do not want to be locked in a super long contract.

I am hearing rumors. I do not have any links, I am sorry. This is coming from some friends of mine, some have connections, so do not. But is anyone hearing this also? From what I have seen, this website breaks news faster then almost anyone, so I come to ask...
Ok, here is what I am hearing. That FSU and Clemson are ticked at the new ACC deal. You think they got a good deal? They really did not, compared to the PAC and what SEC will get down the road. ESPN would own their lower tier media rights, where as the PAC owns everything in house, own network, many more millions will come in future on top of our top negotiated deal we got with lower tier media rights; not to mention we are launching PAC-12 TV into Asia in the very near future. We have 20mill per school now, but with the new network and other activities planned we might be closer to 30mill per school down the road. The SEC will be super rich too when they get their new deal.
Those 2 schools do not want to be stuck in a long term Contract with the ACC that seems good now, but compared to what others are getting will be small actually. And I hear the SEC wants them. Now, that will touch off a whole new round of Conference shifts. The Big East is virtually already dead as the best of those teams have left them to ACC or Big 12 or such. But if those 2 left, the ACC would again raid the Big East. And that will make the Big East even weaker then they pathetically already are now. And well, the SEC would have 16 teams.
And well, that is the PAC's sweat spot of where they want to end up eventually anyways, at 16 teams. I hear we will again try to raid the Big 12 as a result. We could of had Oklahoma ect last time, but we turned them down. I am hearing that all the big boys know the future is 4 super power Conferences at 16 teams each. That such a course is unavoidable and all know this. And that is why they only want to stay at a 4 team playoff, to keep everyone not them out, more money ect for them. So in the end it would be a huge SEC, PAC, ACC and Big Ten and the PAC and Big Ten would raid the Big 12's best teams...
Anyone hearing this? Personally I think it sucks if true and hope all this does not happen.

Does anyone know when A&M and Mizzou are getting voting rights on membership or if they already have them?

I don't doubt 4 super conferences will happen at some point but I doubt FSU is ever really going to leave the ACC unless the conference absolutely implodes WAC-style.
Our top sports radio station had on Idaho's AD. It was a great interview. That AD was pretty cool. Anyways, that AD shared a lot of great inside stuff. Like how aggressive Delaney is and how down the road the power Conferences may try to take back Basketball from the NCAA, as the BCS system does with the NCAA with Football, to keep all that TV money for themselves that right now the NCAA is getting and keep out the D-2 schools ect...

Quit starting rumor threads, Ice.
It was not my intent to start a rumor per say in any way. My only motive was to check and see if any other guys on this site have been hearing the same things and to get independent confirmations of such. And the only way I knew to check and see what all everyone has heard, was to share what I had just heard...

if only the 4 "super conferences" get a shot at the national title there is going to be a huge furor that will probably invite congress to step in. dealing out notre dame and others not affiliated with the big 4 will not work. they will have to expand the playoffs. personally, i like 6 teams. #1 and #2 getting a bye.

A&M probably doesn't "technically" have voting rights til summer....but I'd imagine they are already considered part of the team and consulted with on various issues.
In regards to Clemson/FSU, Slive has other targets with the SEC Network on the horizon. While great fits and certainly add value to the league, neither add states and new TV sets, which is what will drive the SEC network revenue up. Add that in with Geo/Flo/USC opposed to those teams, and I would be very very surprised to see either of those teams in the SEC anytime soon....The next round of SEC expansion will include VaTech/NcState/Maryland/Virginia...2 from that group.
FWIW, my prediction is there is no movement anytime soon other than when the Big12 moves to 12 by adding Louisville and BYU after FSU/Clemson say no. And I also expect the Big12 to drag their feet on Louisville/BYU hoping in the mean time to lure some of the bigger ACC teams and/or Notre Dame. The Big12 will never get any of the big names, though, and will eventually officialy invite Louisville/BYU within 3 years.

Maybe, you might be right bud. Personally, I have always been for 8 total teams in playoff. Each conf champ (6 AQ, plus 2 other teams getting in).
Either way, if we do have another major Conference shakeup I really envision ND being forced into joining a Conference(like Big Ten or such). ND has lost tons of power. Many Conferences do not like them having voting power like a Conference. And they have become non relevant to CFB recently anyways.
If the PAC does add teams, to catch up to the SEC in # of teams. OU would be a lock. But I bet in the end that Texas folds from their bluff and they join the PAC too.
You have to admit. With the PAC having USC and Oregon in the old PAC-8, then Texas and Oklahoma in the new EAST PAC, our Conference would be pretty massively powerful in the end.
Original 8 of PAC in West. Utah, Colorado, Both Zona schools in East along with 4 others: Probably OU, Okie lite, Texas and Texas Tech.

from the welcome speech Slive gave in Columbia MO the new members "have a voice" from day one. i assume that means voting rights immediately upon entry

If FSU and Clemson left, it would certainly hurt the ACC in football. However, the academic rating of the conference would improve tremendously!

Well, I do not kiss arse. Never have, never will. Not to any boss, cop, admin, nobody. And I hate it when others kiss mine. To do so in my mind is fake and not truthful. And I am not fake. So I know that was not my attempt. And I just asked a simple question...Why did you think that? And you were unable to answer it. Seriously though, why you even think or assume that? Hit me back when you can copy something I said that was doing that as you claim...As more then likely, you were probably misreading my attitude at the time...
