Just to post some, you know, links and facts. I can continue as long as needed.

Big Ten and PAC 12 Extend Partnership

quote:

The Big Ten and Pacific-12 are extending their partnership well beyond the Rose Bowl, announcing Wednesday that they'll step up interconference scheduling, cross-promote on their respective television networks and even set up academic and cultural exchanges.

On the theme of the Ivy League statement - just for comparison...each conferences schools ranked in the Top 100 by US News & World Report (some rankings are tied.)

Big 10

12 - Northwestern
28 - Michigan
42 - Wisky
45 - PSU
45 - Illinois
55 - Ohio State
62 - Purdue
68 - Minnesota
71 - Michigan State
71 - Iowa
75 - Indiana

PAC 12

5 - Stanford
21 - Cal
23 - USC
25 - UCLA
42 - Washington
94 - Colorado

The Ivys are all listed between 1-20 so both conferences have 1 school that is Ivy-like.

As for the rest, the Big 10 top to bottom is superior academically by #s...while the Pac 12 is top heavy with the California schools.

So once again, you are hanging your Oregon hat (#101) on the California schools.

1)Look up research, grants and endowments for major universities and then tell me what conferences bring in the most money. Football money is a drop in the bucket. The PAC 12 is nowhere near the top.

2) You're using one school to say the entire conference is "like Ivy League schools"? It's difficult to even respond to such lunacy.

3) The Rose Bowl is a partnership between the PAC 12 and the Big Ten. Neither conference controls the Rose Bowl.

4) Stability. As a conference it is stable but there are plenty of others in at least as stable a position.

1)I was not saying we are highest for endowments. Harvard has high endowments, but where are they at Football? And the SEC has a lot of money with Football but where are they academically? I could care less about endowments. Football may be a drop in the bucket, but most Schools in the PAC are not willing to spend much towards Football out of the General fund. That is why getting a rich TV deal is very important.

2)I never said, "entire Conference". ASU would be far from it. But still true, one can go to a place like Stanford, experience a Ivy league type School but also still enjoy all the blessings of a top Power Conference in sports that values sports, which is rare. And thus, as a Conference we have a familiarity with Ivy league type Schools in our family here. And those that know, Cal, UCLA, USC, UW are not far behind Stanford in quality buddy...

3)While it may be true that we agreed to a partnership with your Big Ten for the RB you simply do not have a clue if you think we do not own the Stadium, the Event(Rose Parade), And Control the Bowl. Remember, we played other Schools for many years before you guys. We could VERY easily drop you guys like a hat from our arrangement if we desired to. The Big Ten owns Jack shite. They own no stadium, no Bowl, and not one serious Bowl Game even Happens in Big Ten Country. So do not think just because WE invited YOU to play us, that now you own half of all we have or that we are not able to control our own possessions? We control it. Not the other way around. And we could drop you any day we wished and ask the SEC if they would like to play us at our Stadium for the RB, and they would be salivating all over themselves for that chance...

4)But you failed to mention that we indeed possess the Richest TV deal. And also you failed to counter the fact that up until we added Colorado, we had the longest streak of not changing our Conference in any way of all the other Conferences in the Nation. If both those points do not equal Stable, I do not know what does...

They are part of the PAC are they not? If so, I can use them as examples for something PAC related can I not?

No Pac 12 team has ever been an official BCS champion. None. Not one. Seems your conference has some catching up to do regardless of how stable and rich it is.

That remotely has nothing to do with what I was talking about. And that fact simply does not make any of your points.

Yes we have a arrangement with the Big Ten. Of course. But it is not remotely like you guys have some bowl up there or such that we NEED you. You need us. To even debate whether we have control over our own Stadiums and events like the Rose Bowl is absurd. Just because we offer you guys a partnership you think you co- own our shite. Sorry, does not work that way. We have not always played just you. We have offered our RB to others. And lately to you. And we could easily change that to another if we desired. Frankly, we like our partnership with you. But right now, you are getting on our nerves and we just might sever ties if you keep this up.

Actually, technically speaking, the NCAA does not recognize any "Champion" for College Football in D-1.

"In the PAC, we are like Ivy League Schools".

That's a quote. It doesn't say Stanford is at an Ivy League level. It says in the conference we are like Ivy League schools.

Even your back peddling makes no sense.

And drop the we shite. You aren't one of them. You're just hanging on the coattails of the successes of others.

Be careful now. Don't bite the hand that may indeed have to feed you if the Big-12 breaks up.
BTW, I would love to see your Texas and USC fans go at it in the same Conference in debates as they both are the spoiled kids, drama Queens...

I can use the word "we". It is much shorter to say then PAC-12. Plus the very Conference that formed into the PAC-12, the PCC, was created in my very own city. Oregon is one of the first 4 Original Members and has been stated, the other 3 met in my City to form such a great Conference. Just because you bucknuts don't have any Conference pride doesn't mean the rest of the Country doesn't have any...

Yeah...you were one of the original members...you were also a cow college that ran track until 20 years ago when you started tasting your first football success...to match your lone basketball success in the 1930's.

You are obviously happy Oregon is enjoying football success now with new Nike money - but your posts go beyond that - pretending you've been some major contributor to the Pac 10 all these years.

You haven't.

Tell me again who owns the stadium?

Answer: The city of Pasadena, California.

You just make shite up, don't you?

The Rose Bowl Parade. Who owns that again?

quote:

Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association, created by the efforts of Charles Frederick Holder and Francis F. Rowland, is the non-profit organization that has annually produced the New Year's Day Tournament of Roses Parade since 1895 and the Rose Bowl Game, since 1902

This is so much fun. And far too easy.
