He's got the 6th highest On base percentage for a career.
The 4th highest OPS for a career.
He may not be the best hitter ever, but he's one of the best ever. (Unless you're considering "hitter" to mean simply hitting a baseball to get on base period, instead of taking into account power and taking walks)
Steroid era makes it so.

Quite a few are better than roid head Bonds.
Deal with it.
You dumb bra.. Every era has their drug or choice.. whether it's steroid, HGH, or greenie from the 70s..
Stop being so fricking naive. Athletes since the dawn of time have looked for ways to get an edge up on the competition and/or to improve their play.

but if everyone was using steroids, was he really gaining any advantage compared to his competition?
Considering he used AFTER his prime, like Clemens, to pad stats then yep, he gained a competitive advantage.

well he was the player of the 90s, ahead of griffey, before steroids

How come he was so much better than everyone else in the game, despite the fact that steroid use was rampant?
Bonds is one of the greatest ever. In fact, there was almost no real punishment in Major League Baseball until like 2005, I believe. As long as you unaware of the future health risks or willing to take those chances, then why would not seek to improve yourself as a ballplayer?

Barry was going to end up one of the three greatest players of all-time with out juice.

that's all that good baseball players do

Sweet, he gained an advantage over like 15% of the non-steroid using players.
Also, Bonds and Clemens were in-fricking-credible before and during their steroid use.

Were you born yesterday? or are you just intentionally being dense..
Babe Ruth didn't have to play against blacks. People before steroids were eating speed like candy..
Bonds was an all-time great before he started juicing. He started HGH bc shitty players like Sosa and McGwire were getting all the attention and fame. Bonds just proved that when he's on the same playing field the rest, he's still the greatest.
Top 3 Best players to ever play the game, even before he started HGH.

Yet needed roids to be among the greatest ever.
This is funny shite beyond comprehension. Really.
Bonds as best hitter ever is fricking moronic.

Well, I would not call them shitty.

Tell me your greatest hitters.
By the way, you cannot use Ty Cobb or Hank Aaron.

Fair, but honestly without roids what were they?
Sosa for sure wasn't a great player. McGwire had power before it, but there are questions about him even from the day he walked in with Conseco with the As.. So his entire career may be based off steroid use.

Ted Williams, Ty Cobb, The Babe.
Hornsby is on deck...
That was his list. All guys that played before integration. lol
But it's Bonds that has the asterisk next to his name....

Not Top-10 before roids! Maybe not top-20.

Why? Both of those players cheated?
Ty Cobb had the grounds crew in Detroit soak the patch of dirt in front of home plate to make it easier for him to bunt for singles. In fact, the little area in front of home plate was called Cobb Pond.
Hank Aaron used greenies.
Since Bonds sucks because he was a cheater, then do not use these cheaters. So, I ask you again, tell me your greatest hitters.

That really does not bother me. I think it is difficult to accurately judge different eras. It is not fair to penalize those prior guys playing Jackie Robinson, but, at the same time, you cannot punish Bonds for taking steroids when there was virtually no consequence at the time.
