As much as I dislike the team and all that...I must say that Stephen Curry can play basketball. He is an extremely talented player.

It's not a bunch of over-paid, over-rated players running around showboating.
did you see all the and 1-esque passes curry was throwing around last night? or did you see them and just forget them on purpose?

The NBA cares about winning, but not as much as the guys in CBB
what do you base this on?

It seems like the NBA is just about one or two people scoring 50 points and slam dunking every other possession.
you obviously don't watch much NBA ball

Except I'll tune in for the round of 64.
I do too, actually. And I think Palm Beach makes a good point about it being regional. Like most of the people in the northeast care much more about the NFL than college football. I imagine if I'd have grown up near Tobacco Road, I'd have a bigger interest.

I just hate all playoffs for college sports. It doesn't determine the best team.
A team like Oklahoma State doesn't deserve to be given a second chance.
Anyway, the tournament needs to be reduced to 16. That way, the regular season means something adn I'll be more inclined to watch it.

Is there any other sport where you can lose 1/3 or 1/2 of your games and still make the playoffs?
NBA just last season.

No playoffs for college sport? But it’s okay in the pros?
If anything, playoffs make far more sense in college than the pros because of how many teams there are. In the NBA, there are only around 30 teams. Everyone plays everyone. In college, there are over 330. The regular season simply isn’t long enough, nor could it ever be long enough feasibly, to effectively sort out that many teams. A tournament in college sports is a necessity.
Now, if your argument is that automatic bids should be handed out to conference regular season winners and not the conference tourney winners, then yes, that would make the regular season far more meaningful. Especially for the smaller schools. But that’s not a problem with the tournament per se, that’s a problem with the selection of the field.
And I love how you want to tinker with what is essentially the greatest sporting event on the American sports calendar. What I love about the tournament is that it is perfect for gambling, it is incredibly exciting, it objectively crowns a champ (no, the best team does not always win – SEE Villanova or NC State), and it also gives the little guy a shot. It’s really a great balance.
Now, a fairer format would be 32 regular season conference champs, like the old model (except the ACC, which always crowned their champ by tournament), but that’s when, um, no one really watched college basketball.
