USGA*

Some guys around here used Grint or some app that you can get a USGA recognized handicap.

I just pay $30 or whatever a year at my course.

12.8, but I'm trending down to 12.2. Wanna get below 10 this summer.

Not sure if there is a true option in LA. Maybe James leitz but he may just fit for titleist

Leitz in Slidell is legit. He's a Golf Digest top 100 club fitter. I don't know if he only fits titleist or not though.

Yea, all you have to do is post 10 rounds on a website that provides handicaps if you want an official USGA handicap.

Some websites wont give you an official USGA handicap. They have to jump through some hoops to be able to say they are a "golf club". But a few have done it.

I think it's just easier to do it at a club, and use the GHIN app or the clubs computer after rounds (used to do this just to go in and hit on the one hot girl in the pro-shop).

You are correct. Forgot that. It's been that long since I've kept one.

Very nice. I've always thought 18 and below was pretty good golf. If I had to guess I'd put the average Joe Hackaswing at around 23ish maybe? You play bogey golf and you're better than most.

I'll definitely look him up then. Hopefully he's not Titleist only. Thanks,

U can find any club fitter. They are pretty close to the same. The top 100s will charge more and they only got top 100 for sales.

Everyone who claims to be a club fitter is not. If I am getting fitted as I have before, I want - every club to be fit outdoors on trackman. I want all lofts and distance gaps checked via trackman. Every shaft to be weighted and sorted to .5 grams, also each shaft frequency checked for the same flex. All lies adjusted and grips weighted also. Also each sw has to be the same no stepping down.

Hard to find someone who can do all that. I trust very few people to work on my clubs.

Scratch or better golfers get those fittings. Nobody else should. Waste of money.

FIFY bro.

Unless you're satisfied with your 15 handicap, why wouldn't you spend the money to get fit perfectly for a set of clubs?

Is it for everyone? Probably not. There are guys who are cool with shooting 87. I'm not one of those guys. But getting properly fit can ONLY benefit.

No bringing properly fitted will not help those types of handicaps. There distances are too sporadic each shot. All they need to know is length and lie and grip size. That's it baw.

I kinda side with outoftown

The gain the average golfer will get from length, lie and grip adjustment will benefit them a lot more than the other particulars

Sure the other adjustments can't hurt them, but for what it costs to do, and the value they would gain for that cost, I don't think it's necessary

Hell I'm not really concerned about having my irons adjusted to perfect gaps or having my clubs swingweighted, spine aligned, blah blah

If this were more important to golfers, there would be more fitters doing it, but it's just not as beneficial

Once one can consistently hit the center after being fit for length and lie angle which will improve that consistent ball striking, then i would say they should get more technical, until then they should spend that $ on grooving a consistent repetitive swing.

Which is something most of us will never achieve, at least to the degree where all of the other stuff makes sense

Doesn't lie, length and grip =fitting? Just going buy a set off the rack at Dick's=/= fitting.
