I understand how hard it is to make the majors and some kids just need 2-3 years in the minors to make the jump out of HS.
Still, I wonder if it wouldn't be better if they had to attend college for a minimum of 2 years before going pro. Imagine the level of competition. It'd be insane.

LSU had Gallo, Story, Hellickson, Bobby Bradley, Slade Heathcott, and at one point Josh Bell was committed to LSU but switched to Texas before ultimately being drafted and going pro.
