How better was his 2000 adjusted ERA than Kershaw's 2016 numbers.

No chipper Jones.....list is shite 20 year .300 average from both sides of the plate 37 hrs short of 500 and 220ish hits from 3k....arenado hasn't hit year 6 yet. Get you shite outta here.

Arenado is a 4 time Gold Glove winner.
Will be 5 after this season.
Jones as good as he was is not in a their class defensively.
Beltre for sure is better without question IMO

3B may not be as important as the middle infield, CF or C but the difference between a great 3B and an average one is huge. Especially if you have sinkerball pitchers.

Career wRC+

Chipper 141
Beltre 115
Arenado 111

Chipper is clearly the best offensive 3B of the era. Not really close. A career .300/.400/.500 guy.

And while he wasn't Beltre over there defensively, he was no butcher either.

Chipper and Beltre are the clear cut top 2 choices at 3rd with Rolen next in line to me.

How many has Beltre saved with his glove compared to Chipper Jones
If we are speaking offense alone it would be different. Plus Arenardo has only been in the league 7 years now or close to that long so his entire resume will not be as good as either one of them.
Hence the reason why I said at their peak.

Who's to say arenado isn't peak now....I'll wait to see where he is out of Colorado. Chipper put his numbers up mostly at Turner Field, a known pitchers park.

Arenado does not belong in this discussion. He is a very nice player without a doubt but Jones is a 1st ballot hall of famer and Beltre will be in Cooperstown as well. Factoring in offense and defense, Beltre and Chipper are pretty close. I go with Chipper due to the superior bat but Beltre has had a great career too.

His home/away splits are not that different compared to Larry Walker when he was with Colorado.
My issue with Chipper Jones was that he was never known as an amazing defensive 3rd basemen
Let's say a Rolen, Beltre or Arenado.
When you have a great defensive 3rd basemen especially one that covers a lot of ground this allows the shortstop to cheat up the Middle or if you have a Vizquel like SS it allows the 3rd basemen to hug the line.
Anything down the line is a instant double. Beltre as a third basemen was a platinum glove winner. Arenado is not in his class but is an amazing athlete in his own right.

So you take someone like Vizquel or Simmons over A Rod at SS?

Very close. I think Utley is pretty underrated, so I was trying to give him some credit, but Alomar is right there with Biggio and Utley imo.

SS Tulo. Jeter

Cal Ripken's best season of his career was 1991. Going by your criteria, he should be in above both of those guys. His 91 season was better than any season Jeter or Tulowitzki ever had.

ARod was also better than both of those guys.

We can start having the Chipper comparisons when Arenado wins an MVP or World Series.

A better argument would be for Todd Helton if u want to be a defensivel douche about it.
