when a conference does not have eligible teams then notre dame (or any other school) can be a replacement.
if a conference team qualifies for the game, notre dame can not take their place, wtf
in regards to this game, ND has a contract to take the place of a big east school every four years; so yes, notre dame DOES have bowl tie-ins...

I'm agreeing with you. But I used to visit Tallahassee regularly from 2000 to about 2007, and I remember all the whining from FSU fans who thought the I formation was killing them.
