so if i spend 10k to buy in and win 45k. its a waste of $$$?

if some redneck buys 5 bucks of lotto tickets everyday and eventually hits a jackpot its still a dumbass move.

Also thanks for realizing i have $$$$ and you have $$$, you could have $$$$, but you spent $ on a crapshoot.

a crapshoot? you obviously have no idea about the tourney at all. maybe a crapshoot to win the entire thing. WSOP ME is a great tourney to make good $$$. its a field of 75% morons and sat winners and its the greatest structured tourney in the world. Each level is 2 hours long and you have 30,000 starting chips. If your stack is still at 30,000 going into day 3 you will still have 25bbs which is super fine in a MTT. Obviously, you have no idea what I am talking about so I have no idea why I am wasting my time but I forgot you are always right about everything. STFU about shite you have no idea on. I think you talk just to fricking hear yourself talk. (I guess it would be typing in this episode)

Is the only qualification to play in this thing to put up the 10k?

Good luck. Keep us posted during the tourney if you can.

As for the guy who mentioned luck (you also mentioned it)....while I believe you need a break here and there to win it all or even to go deep...I dont think its about luck. If it were truly luck, the same guys wouldnt be sitting at finals all the time. Luck and breaks can come into play in the short term, but in the long run, there is no luck. The best player will win in the long run.

FWIW...I dont play anymore because its too much of a PItA to drive to Harrahs, but I used to play all the time. Back then it was all limit games- hardly any tourneys. Nowadays, since ESPN got on the bandwagon, there are tourneys and no limit games everywhere it seems.

Good luck again.

Over the span of 6 days yes. Pro's even go on bad runs that last over a year. So yea alot of it is luck.

On the topic of luck....one mf my favorite movie lines of all times is Matt Damon in the back of the cab at the end of Rounders.

He has this smirk on his face and thinks to himself "some people insist its all luck" or something to that effect. Great line.

Anyone who thinks its all luck, I say accept the mans challenge and go take your shot at "getting lucky."

you obviously understand the game. Thanks for the well wishes bro. Im going to make a twitter account before i go to keep everyone updated. well mostly my friends and family. lol. and anyone else who even cares.

I really appreicate it deuceiswild.

You a cash game player mostly? Im not that good in cash games. I am profitable at 1/2 and 2/5 just cause players are so bad but Im not +ev in cash games.

MTT I do pretty damn well online and make a good bit of money for a 2nd income. Just started backing a couple guys also, but that is very stressful and the variance is so high.

Again, thanks deuce.

Well, its like this...I was a shift supervisor in a casino poker room for a few years (hold the jokes about not being able to play, please..lol)...so yes I understand the game fully.

Between my work schedule and the inconvenience of going to Harrahs, I just dont play anymore..or rarely anyway.

Back then the only time you found a tourney was on slow days they would have free rolls just to get the room full. Now, it seems the 1-2 no limit is the Harrahs bread and butter. I dont like that philosophy for Harrahs, but I guess you gotta provide what the customer wants. I figured most of the "fish" would be broke within a year once they started spreading that 1-2 game. So far, I'm wrong.

yea. great movie. like damon says in the movie,
"the same guys make the final table every year."

obv with the increase in poker entrants the more and more of unknown guys get deeper and deeper. people who arent into poker dont really know alot of the guys.

example. Brock Parker has won 2 WSOP braclets already this year. the normal person has no idea who he is. The kid is an absolute beast online. one of the top 10 online tourney players in the world.

is luck involved? obviously it is. name me something that luck isnt involved in when it comes to making money?

like i try to explain to everyone that questions me playing poker. Even my mom. 2+2 always = 4. numbers hold true over a long period of time. poker isnt a snapshot. its a long term thing.

So i guess to answer the question, YES, I prefer a cash game (limit) because thats what I know best. I dont have enough experience in tourneys, and to me its a totally different monster.

I have the patience to wait out the fish at the table. A cash game suits me fine. You dont need to be quite as aggressive, and a mistake doesnt get you kicked off the table and out of the game..lol.

this game is so juicy its sick!!!! i can turn a huge profit in this game and im not even good in cash games. the people who play it play it like a 2/5 game. like opening raise is $20. LOL. at a 1/2 game. lol. its a joke.
