Once. I posted in the OCD thread on the OT about my chip shuffling. I made a profit, but I did not like it at all.

The El Dorado 1/2 game is just like the way the guy described the one earlier in this thread. It's played like a 2/5 game. Wallking out of there up over 1k after a few hours of solid play is not out of the ordinary.

With the wife and kid, the only time I have played lately is Wednesday nights from like 1am-6am. Really easy money.

Outside of Dana, Wally, Clint, Johnny, and only a few others in BR..most local players from the BR boats couldn't sit down and survive longterm vs a WSOP bracelet owner like Buddy, or other savvy pros..especially in cash games..whole 'nother monster!

By the way, Buddy, an former accountant, was the guy that Bobby Knight shoved in a bar altercation in Philly at The Final Four in 1980.

GOOD LUCK BRO! It has always been my dream as well since first watching the ME on TV when Chris "shake your moneymaker" Moneymaker won the whole thing! Wear some LSU so we know who you are!!!

Wally is definately not one of the best in BR. He had a very good run in the 2005 harrahs ME but people give way to much credit to guys who hit one tournament. There are quite a few guys who play better than Wally in the cash games and really overall from BR. Dana had a good tournament as well but i'm not sure how well he plays NL cash games. Everytime i've seen him at Harrahs for the circuit events he is watching or playing tournaments. I have no idea who Johnny is.

maybe it was a few years after that..im not positive on the exact year..but i do remember when it was a 500 max buy-in, hen it switched to no max buy-in..then it went back to a more normal format..

I believe it was jan of 05. When it came back it was a 5-5 game. There was also a 15-30 limit game on Wedensday nights. The game went down to a 1-2 NL for a while before being brough back as a 2-5 NL with a 300 max buy in. Got kicked up to a 500 max buy in just before it got shut down, then was brought back on the second floor as the same 2-5 with a 500 max.

2-5 with a 500 max.

Up here the max is 500 or 70% of the biggest stack, whichever is higher.

true I have made more money in tournaments since I cashed my 1st 1 in may 2007 than Moneymaker and he plays a lot of events.

It's 500 or 50% in BR. I left that out.

Wally was on fire and locked in for 2005. Had a few cash gamer friends tell me he was tough player back then too. I've heard his game really tapered off after that, that he couldn't win in trips to Vegas. And have friends that have seen him out and about with his hot young girlfriend in following years..maybe he's distracted?

Most of the better cash players, locally, don't tourney, and keep low profiles.

He was more fearless than anything else. fearlesness is great in poker if you can control it. I don't think he ever could. He just became wreckless and the game caught up to him. He is always welcome late at night in BR cause he is usually just coming in from the bar with his chick and going to hammer pot after pot. That stuff only works for so long.

That's why I said your list was off a bit for best cash game player. There are a few young kids in BR, younger than me, who are excellent cash game players. I also wouldn't take anything away from the older guys like Frank, Mike, Raul, etc... who have been winning at that game for years. Many of the guys from BR never play tournies. After 2007 I would travel wherever the circuit was just to play the side games. Tourney poker and cash game poker don't really go hand in hand. I have quite a few friends who are strictly tournament players and good ones who will ask my opinion on a hand they played in a cash game that was just awful.

Would you say it was more profitable in these games than your normal game in BR?
