Hahaha. You are so out of touch. Detroit could literally end the falcons season and I would give Calvin Johnson a high five if possible as a Gt fan

Lotta butthurt in the Atl. What a bunch of fricking losers. Congrats to Carolina, though. From dumpster fire to division champs in a few seasons. Gotta love the NFL for that.

I know. Blasphemy. You hope we win every game, regardless of how meaningless or what the consequences might be.
My premise and belief: We are not a Super Bowl team. Before the season, I started a thread suggesting that we actually had more talent on defense than offense. It ran for several pages. I expected disagreement. To my surprise, it for the most part did not receive ridicule. And my thread presupposed that one of the many young outside linebackers--Martez Wilson, Rufus Johnson, Eric Martin, Chase Thomas--might emerge with the injury to Butler. But with the regular season one game away from ending, I will reiterate what I have thought for some time: This offense is not nearly as talented as we have been and as we have thought.
On offense, we have two Pro Bowl players: Brees, who has not played his best on the road, and Graham. The offensive line is mediocre. The wide receivers are mediocre. The running backs are at best average. Colston is still good, but not quite the player he was. I think we have seen the end of the line for Lance Moore, and age has robbed Sproles of a step.
Let's assume that Armstead will improve and is the left tackle of the future--and I think we will see a much improved Armstead in 2014. On offense, we need a center, a replacement for Grubbs if he leaves for cap reasons, another wide receiver, and a third down back. And we could use another running back and tight end.
On defense, the line is set. However, our back seven is average, and the linebackers are too slow and poor. We need another outside linebacker, inside linebacker, safety, and another defensive back.
Why are we where we are. Two reasons: drafting too late over the years and too few draft picks. Since the 2007 draft, over seven drafts, we drafted only three times before the 20's: We traded up to pick Ellis in the top 10 picks, and twice we drafted in the mid-teens. Otherwise, we have been drafting in the bottom third of the draft. It matters where you draft. Over the last two weeks against the Rams with Quinn and Carolina with its middle linebacker, we saw the impact that top 10 players can cause.
And since the 2008 draft, we have had instead of the normal allotment of 42 drafts picks--seven picks each year, six drafts--only 31 draft picks. And over the last five drafts, we have had only one--one--second round pick.
This team needs to rebuild. It has too many deficiencies with regard to talent. The positive is that it has relatively few players to whom it needs to pay big dollars: Brees, Jordan, Graham. This are going to be major changes to the roster after this season. Watch.
Tiny dick saints fans
