Still proving my point. LT is the greatest because.

1. Awards he didn’t deserve
2. NFC East anecdote
3. NEW YORK CITY, duh

How many of these NYC kingmakers bothered to even watch a Bengals game to see if anyone was better? Your point is that Reggie Williams couldn’t possibly have been better the year LT won all the awards because muh LT. LT “revolutionized” but I can name you a nobody who was statistically better that year.

LT had the 4th most sacks in New York City that year and he’s the freaking MVP. Klecko and Gastineau BOTH had twice as many sacks as LT. Give me a break.

It’s been said before and I’ll say it again. If LT, played for the Saints and Rickey Jackson played in NYC, Rickey Jackson would be on this list today.

Rickey Jackson and Andre Tippett were doing the exact same thing at the exact same time.

Rickey Jackson did not make a Pro Bowl until his 3rd season and did not make an ALL-PRO team until his 4th season, LT did all that in year 1

Andre Tippett did not record a sack his rookie season, the first season the NFL officially recorded sacks

Runnersup: Charles Woodson
That’s just criminal. Charles Woodson wasn’t better than Champ Bailey in any way. He’s so overrated from a historical perspective.

In the same year, Bengals OLB Reggie Williams had 1.5 more sacks, 3 more INTs, 2 more fumble recoveries, and helped lead his team to the Super Bowl.

And he didn’t even make the Pro Bowl.

Thanks for proving my point that LT was not “revolutionary.”

And BUM picked two Hall of Famers in that draft, by the way.

The year before LT joined the Giants as one of the most hyped rookies ever I might add

the 1980 Giants with Harry Carson, Gary Jeter, Mark Haynes, George Martin, Brad Van Pelt, etc. finished 27th in points allowed and 24th in yards allowed

the 1981 Giants with LT finished 3rd in points allowed and 3rd in yards allowed with basically no additions to that defense from the year before.

SO YEAH
