I don't remember seeing you stand up for Reggie Bush for doing much less.

After seeing the NCAA abuse their power, IMO at least, the last few years I've come around.

Also I acknowledge that I let my LSU homerism effect my judgement on the USC/Bush case.

Seriously though, since winning the Heisman last year you mean to tell me that out of all the trips he's made this off season and appearances that he hasn't done one thing wrong to make him ineligible for this season? From flashing money at the casino to showing off his new Rolex. Come the frick on. Forget the whole parents thing.

See, I hope that's what happens.

I hope the NCAA is at least as overbearing here as they were with USC.

Why?

Because it adds more fuel to the fire to reform or eliminate the NCAA.

Correct me if I'm wrong but unless the NCAA can establish a link btw Manziel and a coach/booster they can't punish A&M on the current allegations right?

What was the connection between a coach/booster in the Reggie Bush case?

The NCAA rules that USC/ Todd McNair knew about Reggie Bush and should have done something.

Also most everyone acknowledges that the NCAA hit USC for not cooperating with the investigation as much as anything else.

The NCAA put it on Todd McNair a coach iirc. They said he had constructive knowledge of Bush's situation.

Which is why I want them to continue to abuse their power. Maybe more people will come around to oppose them.

Or maybe if the system trends towards chaos with the majority of players and programs escaping the NCAA's "punishment" (Cam Newton, Manziel, hopefully Miami) the same objective can be accomplished without unnecessarily hurting other college athletes.

Thing is, the schools can afford to pay the players.

If they choose not to, they should allow the players to profit from their image, just as everyone else can.

I'm to the point that I don't care how we get there just as long as we get there.

His Heisman odds to repeat has now fallen from 15 to 1 to gazillion to 1.

Apparently the Alabama-Texas A&M game has been taken off the board at the Las Vegas Hilton.

Not sure if that means anything.

I remember when people paid me to sign paraphernalia when I was in college.

Because, you know, that happens with all normal kids.

I can't remember if that happened to me as a freshman or not.

You'd have to ask my personal assistant from that time frame.
