Strong turnout by the midwesterners. Could be a surprisingly good show

I said this week that I wouldn’t be surprised if they had the biggest turnout ever. Iowa State fans are the most loyal in the country. They know they’ll literally never be anything more than average at anything but they always show out.

Feel like it’ll be awhile until someone tops Wazzu last season. That was insane.

Anyway, I’m always happy to see Gameday in new places.

As cool as it is to see the set and hosts IRL, actually going and standing around the thing for the whole show seems miserable. Good for them for being excited enough to have a ton of people turn out for doing that.

I went once back when it was a 2 hour show. It wasn’t so bad then, and it’s fun if it’s your first time. But now, the show is 75% video packages and 25% actual stuff happening live, so I would not go again. It also sucks for most schools because, if Gameday is there, it most likely means you have an evening kickoff time, and that’s a long day.

Good buddy (a cyclone) is there and just sent this pic.

At Iowa St. they can leave the stadium at halftime so they all go drink more.

Next year? Why are they looking at Gameday locations a whole year in advance?

Don’t they do that at a lot of places?

I've been to Badger games at 10 different B1G stadiums and have yet to go to one where that's ok. Or maybe I just didn't realize it.

You always could at Kansas...until this year. Once they started selling alcohol they shut that down.

It’s painful listening to Corso. As much as I like him, it’s painful.

They were discussing/showing pictures of the tailgaters in Aimes.
paraphrasing:
Herbie: I've tailgated in alot of places like this. Im from the Midwest. But early on at ESPN we were down in Baton Rouge and campers where showing up Thursday/Friday, kids where throwing nerf footballs, smokers going, grills humming and the smell of bourbon was in the air.

Desmond: Here in these folks start drinking beer early this morning. In Baton Rouge is brown liquor in the morning.

Yeah, so what?
