Wasn't it also disgusting for the officers to get off for King beating and all the others that were killed or beaten/humiliated etc. ?

It was pretty disgusting for that Korean storeowner to not even get a day in prison after she popped Latasha Harlins in the back of the head.
I can't rile myself to get more upset at OJ just because he's more famous. Lots of other injustices happen every day that people don't give a damn about.

Rodney King was defying officers direction which is why they got off. You can see him keep trying to get up.
Legally they got that right. They also got the civil part right as they beat him unmerciful and did cause him loss. People forget King was a criminal not some random man.

IIRC... the LA Riots did more damage to Asian owned property than others... mostly b/c of this

Just bc OJ didn't think he was black doesn't mean he wasn't black. What happened was no different than the all white juries in the south or wherever knowing that a white man did something wrong to a black and voting for acquittal.

Apparently you can't read.
He was resisting arrest, which is why they walked.
Then I CLEARLY state they got the civil part right as they beat him. But Rodney Kind is not a saint or innocent.

Funny how the excessive force cases like this almost always involve black people huh, I mean I wouldn't want to say its institutional racism but you know crazy coincidence.

Surely you think there's a line somewhere right? You should be able to make any plausible argument, but making arguments you ought to know to be false or you fabricate yourself doesn't seem ethical at all.
I think there's a line, I just think Prosecutors and their allies (cops, etc) cross it a hell of a lot more often with virtually no consequences.
A DA induces perjury and he's shielded, and at worst if called out spins some line about "victims deserve justice and sometimes you lose sight of the law" or something that makes breaking the law look noble-- if a Defense Attorney does the same he's a scumbag?

He should talk shite about Fuhrman. You want to blame someone for OJ being acquitted blame the self-admitted racist who took the 5th on the stand when asked about planting evidence.
Posted on 6/19/16 at 5:54 pm to montanagator
You even know why he took the 5th?
If he doesn't then the case gets tossed due to perjury and doesn't go to a jury.

Trying to watch on Xbox one, is the ESPN app a steaming pile of shite for anyone else?
Posted on 6/19/16 at 5:56 pm to Wishnitwas1998
The app is pretty shitty but I had no problem watching all of it.

I'm no legal expert... could he have answered FU Bailey's question about the glove and it not be found to be perjury?
Ito didn't keep control of that case whatsoever

So...He took the 5th so he wouldn't have to blatantly lie about planting evidence? I mean I figure most people thought he took the 5th because he planted evidence, I'm not sure how this is in anyway a defense.

And those people are just as shitty as the black jurors on the OJ trial
Wonder if we will ever grow as a human race

thought he took the 5th so he wouldn't perjur himself about using the n-word... his lawyer just made him take the 5th all the way across the board... inc. about planting the glove

My problem is that it won't let me pick up one of the episodes mid way through, I try to fast forward and it always kicks back to the very beginning
Posted on 6/19/16 at 6:12 pm to montanagator
Not quite.
Once he took the 5th on the initial question of "Did you lie on the witness stand about using the word n***er?" then he was done.
He had to take the 5th for every question from then on.
You can't selectively take the 5th for some questions and not for others.
And at that point the prosecution and Fuhrman's personal lawyer were working at cross purposes. Clark would have been fine with Fuhrman admitting to perjury on the n***er question and then defending himself and the case on the others. She didn't give a frick if Fuhrman opened himself up to a perjury prosecution. His personal lawyer was only concerned about his client's exposure to future prosecution and didn't care what his pleading the 5th did to the prosecution's case.
Fuhrman ended up being an adversary to both sides at that point.
If only someone else had found the glove............but ultimately I don't think it would have mattered; that jury, in that city, at that time in history was delivering a not guilty verdict no matter what.
