I was saying it should have been called incomplete, but it could probably be debated

Nice, Tech should be a great fit for him.

And yes it most likely should have been ruled incomplete to begin with. That's exactly how the defender was treating it as he saw it.. but what a heads up, game changing play from Taylor.

NO doubt about that.. the ball hit the ground before he made a "football move"

Blown call

A little U-High SoLa bias in here? Hell, all the LSU coaches sons go there, BUT ECA (Home of Jacob Hester) was the better team regardless of weird call. Kudos to Taylor!

Just a bias against a team that gets in every year, that a another team actually had a shot at taking down.

There's no point in pulling against Curtis, just because that's not happening. Evangel-U-High was for 2nd place in 2A, essentially.

Also, U-High has several LSU prospects, so that's another reason I pull for them.

Except that they weren't.

curtis will beat eca by 3 TDs...

this curtis team will go down as one of the best to ever put on cleated shoes...

here is a question I asked a Uhigh parent last night....

had 24 taken off for the end zone and scored would you have complained?

what I have heard from both sides... there was no whistle....

anyone remember the st aug bonnabel game years ago?

As a neutral observer, that was bullshite. Clearly an incompletion. The incompetence of LHSAA referees to act quickly and the altertness of the Evangel player to do what he did really stick out. I'm not faulting Evangel at all.. that kid made a heads up play and it ended up making the difference for them.

I am NOT defending the referees here.. but... having been in a similar situation before(as a referee) and not clearly seeing HOW the ball ended up on the ground.. I blew a whistle.... it was wrong.. very wrong... too late.. whistle blown play dead..... my whistle sent a good to a sure fire first round loss....

if the referee does not see what actually happens.. ie.. player going down.. catch being made.. or not made.. he can't or shouldn't blow a whistle...

the referees have a different view.. from ground level.. kids in the way.. closer you are the faster things move..

clearly the ECA player thought it was a catch... and yeah..

I wanted Lab to win... I coached some of those kids.....
