DeSclafini is 2-0 with a 2.17 ERA vs. Wash in 4 starts and 3 relief appearances

The reds have gone full LSU baseball and now have 0 LHP in the bullpen(thanks for that delightful nugget Redd)

Picked up Galvis, TBD who gets the cut.

Really solid game by Bauer and hoping this bull pen can get 6 outs and less than 4 runs.

Tito used to let him throw 120+ regularly. Doesn’t look like that is in the cards today.

They ran his pitch counts up to crazy numbers. Bauer has to have a bionic arm

Pitch count has always been interesting to me. These days if any pitcher gets close to 100 alarm bells go of. Managers that let pitchers get to 120 are routinely questioned.

Nolan Ryan once threw 235 pitches in a game and that dude pitched effectively into his mid 40's.

I think there are many factors that go into how many pitches an individual pitcher can throw, mechanics, conditioning, effectiveness, etc. I think to arbitrarily shut everyone down around 100 pitches is shortsighted pack mentality. But the dye is cast on that and almost everyone does it now without even considering it.

Koufax once threw 200 pitches warming up. He was through by age 31.

A lot depends on the individual.

There’s a new 44 magnum in town in Cincy. Move over Eric Davis.
