Current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point leader Jonathan Davenport was the Miller Welders overall and Group A Fast Qualifier by one-thousandth of a second over Mike Marlar. Jimmy Owens was the Miller Welders Fast Qualifier in Group B.
In the first heat race, Earl Pearson, Jr. jumped to the lead at the start and dominated all 15 laps. The Carlton and Kemp Lamm-owned Dunn-Benson Ford, Lucas Oil Products Black Diamond Chassis led Jonathan Davenport and Shannon Babb across the finish line.

What kind of car is he in now? Did y'all see Kevin Swindell was taken to the hospital earlier this week from a wreck at the Knoxville Nationals. All I've read was that it was "significant injury".... Anyone know what happened?

One of the best DTLM races in the south if not the best. Almost 20 years ago I watched Bill Frye come from back to front multiple times in a 4 wheel steer car and was hooked on dirt racing ever since. Sadly Hav-A-Tampa banned 4 wheel steer after that race.

Nah he is out there. He just sucked it up last night and has to come through the B-Main. Jr. made the feature and starts around the 5th row. Landers is on the pole and Bloomquist is back about 4 rows.
