Did you see what Payton’s system looks like without Brees? This isn’t like the Pats where they roll with any ol QB

Brees won the Big 10 and went to the Rose Bowl at that trash bag of a program. He was pretty good.

Those who shite on Brees are the same type of people who think Tim Tebow is a terrible human being.

I remember 2004 Purdue too
Kyle Orrin starting the season off 5-0
Reached #5 in the country
He was a legit Heisman candidate , lost 4 of their last 6 in the regular season and went 7-5 in the year

Still had over 3k yards 31 TDs and 5 INTs

Other than the obvious Brees.
Feel like Purdue always has some random QB that makes a start in the NFL

Yep. They rolled so good in 2008 that, with the exact same team they had in 2007 (sans Brady), they missed the playoffs entirely. That's with the easiest schedule in the NFL that year to boot.

They went 11-5. It’s not like they were under .500

After going 18-1 the season before. That's a difference of 7 games. They went 16-0 in the regular season with the exact same team and had one of the greatest offenses in NFL history. Without Brady, the offense was simply pedestrian and they failed to make the playoffs.

They went 11-5 because that team was THAT freaking good even without Brady. If they had Brady, they would have gone 15-1 or 16-0...especially with that schedule.

Probably the only time unknownknight is ever not a turrible poster is when he posts the stats of Brees/Manning/Brady and how their teams and QBs perform in the games they don't play.

He crushes that niche discussion.

Wait, you don't think the Saints would be 5 losses worth without Brees and inserting a completely average QB?

The numbers have been posted here numerous times with Brees/Brady/Manning and, as I stated above, how their teams/QBs perform when they're out. It's an argument you'll lose every time based on the actual data.

Has Drew Brees EVER in his entire career played on a team that you can truthfully say could have gone 11-5 without him? There ya go.

so you're saying Brady benefits from having a fantastic team and easy schedule. I agree, and I wish Brees had that luxury. I consider Brady the GOAT because he is the most decorated, but no doubt he has benefited from having the best coach ever, a organization that consistently fields good teams (compare his defenses to Rodgers and Brees), and an absolute joke of a division.

I'm not sure what point that dude thought he was proving.

He conceded that the Pats could go 11-5 with, in his words, simply pedestrian offense.

Meanwhile, Brees has I'm pretty sure multiple seasons of top 3 offenses in points and yards and a losing record. And he's certainly never played on a team that would have sniffed 11-5 with a "simply pedestrian" offense.
