On a scale of 1-10, how did they do?

Time will tell won't it? If they win, and win big, then it was a great hire. If they continue on their current trajectory, then it was a bad hire.

A little insight to Pat Kelsey as a CofC alum that has had season tickets for a decade and watched him coach for 3 years.
Guy is a great coach. Players love him. I’m pretty sure he does a few gator tails before every game.
He runs an extremely fast paced offense and has a deep rotation (10) with our starters usually averaging 18-20 minutes. However, unless he changes his play style and minutes distribution, he’ll have trouble recruiting and sustaining that success. 20 minutes is fine for your mid-major guy. 4-5* athletes only getting 20 minutes is a recipe for transfers and being disgruntled.
I hope he does well at Louisville and he did great things for us. That said, I’m glad CofC just hired Chris Mack. Sort of ironic, Pat Kelsey and Mack are friends, Mack got railroaded out of Louisville during Covid and now he’s at CofC while Kelsey goes to Louisville.
I’d give it a 7/10. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does better than that, but also wouldn’t be surprised if he’s looking for a job in 3 years because of the above things.

He has certainly reenergized the fan base that's for sure. He definitely won the press conference. How all that translates to wins I have no idea. It's been a complete losing culture the last few years

10- the job he did at Winthrop was simply amazing and he had Charleston at the top of its league by year 2.

Not as good as the one Arkansas is about to make.

8-9. Kelsey is a helluva coach and a class act.
