Did Alabama separate themselves a bit this week?

Clearly they're in the discussion for top 4. And probably solidly in there considering how horrible the conference is.

It seems like there are a couple teams so far each week that jump out as teams who might be better than Alabama.

I could cite plenty storylines.

Clemson is better than they were. This is the worst Alabama team Saban has had since(name the year). Michigan, OSU, PSU, Oklahoma State...

I think Alabama reaffirmed that their consistency on both sides will give those teams major trouble.

The other contenders this year are showing major weaknesses, imo.

In a year where Alabama might not be insane on either side, I think their consistency might win out.

TCU is gonna end up getting in. They have a real good offense, and play above average defense, will win them allot of games in the Big 12.

As long as Nick Saban is at the helm they are a playoff lock. Hilarious that people thought this playoff would bring parity

Getting in where? TCU ain't beating OU.

Even IF they beat them they would have to beat them twice with the Big 12 championship

BAMA's backup qb is legit. Might be the best qb in the SEC.

Not entirely true.

But Tua and Harris will blow people's minds(Jesus Christ they aren't fair) for the next 3-4 years.

I don't mean will Alabama make the playoffs. Just mean early season hot takes.

Matchups in the playoffs will dictate a ton. And Alabama is no lock to win it all.

But they should be firmly #1 at this point. And every talking head in America has been trying their best to put someone ahead of Alabama.

Or find a team who is just plainly better.

Eh, it's Alabama right now, IMO.

He's legitimately freakishly good.

What adds to it, and not a single person will believe me right now, but he has Tebow level leadership/"it."

His accuracy/just make shite happen is on another planet.

He'll 100% start over Hurts next year.

Would like to see more than one game against Vanderbilt before thinking Alabama has separated itself from Oklahoma, Clemson, B1G champ. Offensive line has been shaky for a while and passing game has been underwhelming...

But today was a Hell of a step forward.

Sure it is. You all recruit at the highest level maybe ever. Nick Saban/Alabama always has a staff that is at least top three in the country. He's ran off all the elite coaches so it's no surprise the SEC has taken a nose dive the last 3-4 years. Clemson is the only team capable of beating y'all and they are gonna lose next week.

I mean damn who will compete in the West? Answer me that

The OL/run game is set, man.

It is what it is, and it's REALLY good.

Alabama's win today really isn't the focus of my post, though.

The teams that everyone wants to put ahead of Alabama this early seem to have noticeable weaknesses this season.

While Alabama seems to have pretty optimal balance as far as what you want on offense compared to defense.

Alabama is just a machine. It really is incredible what Nick Saban has done and is continuing to do there.

Maybe, MAYBE now. God the SEC is bad.

But it isn't like Alabama has just run through the regular season each year like it was nothing.

Alabama has had INCREDIBLE luck. They've also had legendary bad luck as well. It evens out.

And things change. The SEC won't be this bad forever.

I'm not sure what your trying to get at.

Alabama's always the first or second best team in the country.

Happy?

Everyone said this same thing last week, except it was OSU. This is Patterson's best defense since he's went to the Big 12 and he has an offense that can score 40+ a game. Only issue is if Kenny Hill goes full idiot one game and costs them.

You basically want to know if Alabama is the best team in the country.

Yes they are. They are always going to be the 1st or 2nd best team while Saban is there.

Your entire post basically points to the fact that the media (and frankly everyone else) has Alabama fatigue.

So unless you legitimately don't realize that, I'm not sure what your point is.

No I don't.

That's impossible to know and there are about 5 teams around the country that could be the best team. Even the best team doesn't win, so that doesn't even matter.

I'm asking if Alabama's team, at this point, is sorta silencing the opinions of people who are in a rush to put Clemson or Oklahoma or USC or Ok St or PSU or to a much lessor extent OSU and Mich over them.

It's not a crazy thought at all that Alabama isn't the best team.

It hasn't been a very popular thought around the sports world this year, though.

Dude...

Did you read my post?

Everyone has Alabama fatigue.

People get tired of putting Bama at the top, so the media creates these arguments that other teams are better to keep people actually engaged and interested.

OU has the most impressive victory on the season, despite them just sleepwalking against Baylor yesterday.

But Alabama has the most 4 and 5 stars, and has the best coaching.

So either 1st or 2nd best, doesn't really matter.
