No magic solution bc the obvious problem is when you beat a team they drop. Also schedules are so inequitable. Take a team like atm. They lose to LSU, bama, Clem, Aub, and Uga. It could be argued a penn st, wisc, Oregon, etc would all have 5 losses with that schedule.

On the other end you have Clem. Their toughest game was atm. How many teams wouldn’t be undefeated with that schedule? I’d argue the top 4-5 sec teams would.

No magic answer for this one

Definitely during the season, because if you beat them, then you contribute to their fall.

If it's end of season, then it's almost impossible to ever have a win over a No.1 team, because if you beat them, they are no longer No.1.
