Chandler is more important to their team's success than Marion for sure. Probably Kidd too.

Yeah. I think that you could make strong cases for Rose, Dirk, Howard, and even Kobe. Lebron in my mind is the best player in the world but I wouldn't vote him as the MVP this season.

No doubt. He is going to be the difference in the playoffs this year.

No response to anyone in particular, but here is some of my take on the MVP situation.
Statistics, especially metric ones, are not the most critical factors to determining the MVP. Another thing is that voters can get "bored" of the same MVP candidate, which can be evidenced by Jordan's in the 90's not winning every year that he played a full season and won a title. I feel this could be applied to Kareem and Wilt in their primes, etc. when they did not win the award even though they were likely the best and most efficient player. Thus, I do not see Lebron winning the award. This also can be attributed to voters blindly looking at the fact that he is a new team with a better supporting cast and that his team will win less games than last year's Cavs.
I am personally okay with Rose winning this award even if he is not "deserving" because to the public eye, they see a star point guard in a major city on the team with the best record in the East. The MVP voting is not that the biggest deal in the world because the playoffs are "where amazing happens".

Are you trying to say that Rose is better on defense than Lebron?
Add that to the list along with total shooting percentage and Miami's PGs are better than Portland's.

No.
He's a legit candidate, and MUCH more deserving than Rose, IMO. ANd I love Rose and hate Dirk, FWIW.

Can anyone who watched the game today make a legitimate argument against my original post?
Rose has been doing this all year. Not to this extent, but when it's crunch time, NOBODY in NBA history can get to the rim like him.
You are still entitled to your opinions, but the following emoticon in response is just idiotic.

does rose even get to the rim as well as his contemporaries (lebron, wade, etc)?

This never gets old.
Seriously, Rose is not the best player in the league. Not even close. I will concede he is the best point guard, but I still reserve hope that CP3 can get healthy and surpass him.

Better than Wade, worse than LeBron.

Rose needs his Pippen..... and his Phil Jackson.

You love you some Monta Ellis.

if we're talking about awesome drivers, he's gotta be in the discussion

I still think yes. Rose gets to the rim really well. I know the broadcaster in the game today kept saying he is an amazing finisher, but he's kind of not. Although he gets fouled a lot and they don't call it.
