looking forward to the Preakness.. i've done a little research already:

- obviously Animal Kingdom should be the favorite at Pimlico in 2 weeks. i was curious to see how he would do on dirt and he shined in a tough Derby field. got past speedy pace-setter Shackleford and a fast closer in Nehro with relative ease. seemed to do it rather easily. he should absolutely love the Pimlico dirt and the distance will obviously not be a problem.

his likely top competitors

- The Factor: speedy Baffert horse, might not be able to get the distance
- Sway Away: can he finally have his best race? his sire won this race, great pedigree
- Astrology: A.P. Indy colt, three straight 2nd place finishes, will be tough to beat

more to come in the next couple weeks

I NEVER said that people are trying to hurt horses.

I just don't get the concept of people BETTING a TON of money on a HORSERACE!!!!!!!!!! Thats just me.

Theye are fine animals. BUT I DON'T LIKE what people put them through to make money as far as a VERY PHISICAL event for a Horse to do.

Cross country is pretty strenuous. So is agility riding. Also horses used in war back in the day.

Running a mile and a quarter could be looked at as easy

Wow this thread went crazy in a hurry.
People bet on all kinds of things that include animals so I fail to see the problem in horse racing.
As far as the pregame goes, do you only catch one channel? Change your television and that eliminates the problem.
